is in a FULL leg cast. That Golden does't think he'll need surgery and hopefully he'll be back by mid-season.

That is not good news at all.

Actually, it's better news than if he had blown out his knee. Maybe he broke his leg. If it's a bone issue, he'll recuperate and be back. It's football. **** happens. I was really looking forward to watching Kirby play, but we can deal with a Frosh LB getting injured.

If he's supposed to come back mid-season, I wouldn't redshirt him. Let him play and learn on the job. He's already an EE, so what he now needs is experience when the lights go on.

shirt, even is he comes back mid-season that leg won't be ready. Kids a freak athlete, I want him out there 100

everything truly depends on the severity of the injury. if he hasn't started back practicing by the third/fourth game odds are to shirt him. at that point he will have to work on his conditioning as well as catching up to practical experience. Id hate to see them waste a year for special teams play from him.

You can apply the redshirt later anyways. No need to make that decision now. When he is healed we'll see where we're at and then make the decision.

Freakin sucks though. His HS is right in my area so I was hoping I'd get to watch a kid from around here at The U this season.

might be blessing in disguise. by forcing to redshirt him it actually starts to build back the depth we so desperately lack
