I am no fan of ND, but I have to give credit where credit is due. IMHO, ND will play a lot better than people think. Goldens defense is the real deal. ND is solid in every phase and they maximize the use of their talent. Even with all the injuries they have has this season, they get everyone ready. The thing with Al Golden is that he proves that college football coaches can learn, grow and evolve. Golden, Jed Fisch, Thomas Brown, Lashlee are among several former Canes coaches who are doing well at other college programs and the NFL.

Also, if ND plays well or finds a way to win, the NFL will likely throw a lot of money at Marcus Freeman. The job ND has done preparing their players, especially backups, is phenomenal

I find it extremely hard to 'root' for any of these two teams. I just can't do it. My disdain runs deep.

But as others have alluded to in this thread, it would be pretty special to defeat the defending National Champs at home to start off the season.
 
While it would be nice to knock off the defending national champs in game one of next season, I'm rooting for SMOD.

The only way this could have been worse is if it was UF vs FSU. That said, I hate OSU and their smugness on the same level that I hate UF and FSU. The big time games with ND I wasn't alive for so it doesn't have the same sting to it that the others do for me personally. Plus we beat the **** out of ND last we played and I actually think Marcus Freeman is an awesome dude. Plus Plus when we beat them next year we get to say we defeated the National Champs.

I'm probably going to fly down for the ND game next year. Try and get Golden's autograph if he's not the head coach of the Bears by then.

The flight itineraries from here are brutal.

The problem Notre Dame has in this game is where are they going to get points? Everyone talks about Ohio St.’s offense but their defense has been dominant lately. They’ll keep it close the first half but eventually the Domers D will tire and the floodgates will open for OSU’s offense. I’m thinking 31-10 Ohio State.

Then several days later Jeremiah shocks the world and announces he’s transferring to The U 😃 .

What an embarrassment for the 54% of you spinless fish who voted for ISIS. My family lost one loved one a true warrior and a beloved American. I have two words for those people who voted for ISIS and the second one is YOU. This post shouldn't even be allowed. Do you have any clue how many Americans and other lost their lives to this barbaric terrorist organization? What bunch of misfits, morons, and insensitive SOB's casting their vote for ISIS. It is NOT a funny thing.
 
Absolutely despise both teams! I’m around a lot of Notre Dumb fans but no Ohio Taint fans, so I guess as bad as I hate to say…. Ohio Taint. Won’t be watching either way.
 
My kid is a student at ND, so we are all Irish. We also as a family absolutely hate OSU, largely because of how big a bunch of ******** their fans were at the Fiesta Bowl. 22 years later, and no letup for me. We haven’t had a rivalry with the Irish in 30+ years. Love our chances on Labor Day.

Especially less than two weeks after they killed 14 Americans. I get the point, but maybe find something slightly less offensive.

What they did to vote for ISIS is the most offensive thing EVER. The moron Ben who started this post should be banned. I guess the 54% of the morons here who voted for ISIS chopping peoples head off is more preferable than voting for OSU or ND. Our society has lost it ways to say the least.
