****** day, but it just reflects the reality of how irrelevant the program is right now. Hard for any coach to change that without playing a single game. Bright side is we got some solid players and didn't waste scholarships - though even a JAG or 2 at CB would be welcomed right now after Byrd ****ed us. That's the only position that's desperately weak on paper. Maybe not as bad as having Kacy Rodgers and Mike Williams in the top 3, but not far behind either. Losing out to equally ****** programs on H. Miller, Byrd, R. Davis and L. Williams when it appeared we were leading for all 4 at various points in times with the new staff sucks. No way to soft core that.

Good news is the front 7 looks to be stronger than it's been in a very long time and the safety depth is pretty impressive. 3 talented players returning and 3 solid looking prospects coming in. On offense there are enough playmakers that would play on any team in the country - Njoku, Coley, Cager, Walton, Yearby, hopefully the 3 freshman wideouts - it all just hinges on the QB. A great QB can win a lot of games and I'm not sure anyone we play next year is going to have an advantage over us at that position. Coaching QB's is Richt's specialty so it would seem that right away we should have a window into what he can do.

They would have vapor-locked during Butch Davis's first couple years of recruiting. He was reduced to scouring every nook and corner in trying to find players who would come to UM.

I think Richt is playing this really smart. Go after good players, forget the numbers.

Next year, those vacancies will come in real handy after he tears through the ACC - and probably whips FSU like a rented mule.

Yep I have added like 7 straight up *****es just from this thread alone . We will sign 11 top 300 guys and have a top 20 class with a coach for 3 weeks and people are complaining .Straight up nancy *** mothers on here today.

And all he's really done is hold together a "portion" of Golden's recruits. He's also lost one of the best recruits in the class. Color me unimpressed.

This "transition" class is nothing more than retaining kids already strong UM committs and cut some dead weight. Terrible effort thus far. He better win next year.

He held everybody he wanted except Byrd. And the guys he kept were highly sought after guys. Again, we need to compare apples to apples. This stacks up with the transition classes of other powers, especially when the previous coach was fired for performance.

Richt is proven as a recruiter. If he can produce on the field, we will stack top classes. My biggest concern is that we dropped good local players like Phillips and Wiggins.

And he added players like Hoskins, Finley, Bethel, Martin, Johnson, Young and cut deadwood. That's pretty decent.

yeah, its nice to have a competent game day coach with a real strategic mind to get the most out of the talent left as opposed to to having them languish in a **** system on both sides of the ball. Looking forward to the season with Coach Richt and even next recruiting season.

I posted earlier that Cager and a few others thought Byrd was soft and couldn't handle the U's workouts.. Not sure what happened but Cager wasn't the only one that didn't like Byrd. Byrd even responded saying he would meet him in the parking lot... pretty weak kid as far as i can tell

Idk what they have planned, but my point is past years we tried finding excuses for the kids we were recruiting to make ourselves feel better about it. Depth is needed but you can't just go out signing JAGS. If you expected to sign Davis, Stove, Wims and all the others in this class when we weren't even recruiting them two months ago then you need a reality check homie.

Go look at the 2012, 2013, 2014 threads its pretty sad at the comparisons made with some players who weren't even ranked. The whole time since Richt has been here he has been going after elite talent, can't fault him for that.
