National Championship - ND v OSU*

And people were laughing at Ohio State fans for saying that. Dude has a career record of 70-10. Ohio State is one of those jobs in which they believe that the machine wins games, coaches are interchangeable. That said, OU believes that too, then they hired John Blake and Brent Venables.....Ohio State has hit on **** near every coach since Woody. The only guys you could argue were "Failures" were Earle Bruce and John Cooper, and in the case of Cooper, most programs would kill to have a run like Ohio State did in the mid to late nineties.

Ohio State, like the aforementioned OU has been able to win big with multiple coaches, through multiple eras of college football. It's unique, and it also shows that a program that has the best of EVERYTHING and doesn't have to fight many people for talent in their local pool will usually be in position to win more often than not, the key is to cash in. Ryan Day cashed in tonight, just like Woody, Tressel and Meyer did.
They are doing what we did back in the day, change coaches and let the players make them look God like. Talent wins games and gets people jobs, just like Manning got goofy *** Gase a job and many other great teams and players get people jobs that arent any good.

we had the most talent bruh, I am not going to argue what the draft says and history. We evaluated and were ahead of cfb and got the best at that time with no social media. I am not going to argue with someone that didnt thin kwe got the best when we had hall of famers on the team. Coaches coached Hall of famers bruh stop.

You completely missed the point. We had the most talented teams and got the best but we weren’t having to pay more than bama or Ohio State to keep those particular players home. Those deep pocket schools weren’t buying 7 on 7 teams to get into the S Fl recruiting scene. HS recruiting was different then. There is zero chance UM will ever be able to outspend Ohio State for all the best players in a recruiting class in today’s cfb. Only 5 or 6 schools in the country could try and match them money-wise, we’re not one of those schools. Doesn’t mean we can’t win but it will have to be by being smarter with our money.

Why are we still having this conversation? Smith is getting top dollar, playing on the big stage at a school that has been cranking out NFL WRs for the better part of a half century. It's over, move on. Let Beard develop the guys that signed on the dotted line. They may not be Smith(No one is), but they can be players in their own right

We cheated back in the day bruh and now these other programs have power and are using it. They wont let go of that mantle, the same schools will not let go and they shouldn't. They wont allow those past mistakes to happen again and good for them they want it more than anyone else. There are a handful of teams that want it worse than anyone and we aren't one of them. We give effort to try but we failed to capitalize on something we built and we sat on our asses for ages and it cost us, and now this is what happened because we sat on our ***. Pause

This is a special championship. Herbstreit is crying. He only does that like 7 times a year during college football broadcasts.

That’s not what I was told from the OSU side

But honestly at this point who the **** cares really

Not aimed at you just saying

Yeah I don’t think it’s true we offered more. I think he was Ohio St. all the way, he just used us to get more money from them. He knew they would always come back with the better offer .

Today sucks and it makes me hate cfb (with all due respect given to MLK)

The best part is Notre Dame is going to hear that doink forever

And messageboard geniuses will show tomorrow they will all think it was a conspiracy of a sleeper agent in Marcus Freeman, waiting for the right time to throw the game back to his alma mater

I don’t think it is realistic to believe UM will ever get anywhere near Ohio State’s overall talent level (based on 247 composite). They have 14 5 stars. This is the era of free agency, we don’t have that kind of money (maybe Bezos changes that). We CAN be like a better version of ND though - competently coached and with fundamentally sound players (though not elite athletes) making up the bulk of the roster, but with 6 or 7 5 star playmakers (which ND doesn’t have)
You are always such a bundle of sunshine

Wasn’t that hard to predict. They had the most expensive roster in the country. It’s an embarrassment that they even lost twice. Money talks. You want to win, you gotta significantly outspend everyone by a wide margin
Agreed but other teams spent just as much if not more than them..Winning a championship is never just one thing, if it was it would be easy

So much for all that Al Golden d$ckeatin.

That 3 and 11 was obviously a deep go route to Jeremiah Smith. I was literally yelling the play out “tell the safety to turn and run 20 yards out in front of Smith and wait for the ball to land in your hands”.
I feel badly for you, @ST26, @Tony4Canes and @CanefaninBuckeyeland amongst others who live in Ohio and have to live with this.

I had heard they had the most expensive roster in CFB and when all in this year to win it.
