Nasty Nesta

"the active interior defender has the type of motor and mentality that you’ve got to have to be elite on the defensive line"

– It's unclear at the time if Nesta Silvera will stick by his pledge to Miami. Like I wrote on Monday night, the folks in Coral Gables aren't as confident as they once were that he inks with the Hurricanes. -Andrew Ivins

If Silvera doesn’t sign with Miami, he is as dumb as a fracking rock. Period!

It looks like it detective. Did you ever go to HS? How many kids were doing the homework they had all summer to do the night before? Kids often procrastinate.

FIFY

(Sobs quietly) No, I didn't have the opportunity. Pa couldn't work after the TB took hold, so I had to come home during the 5th grade to run the family farm. I educated myself by watching Matlock.

JK LOL OK kids procrastinate. This is not a homework assignment to read "To Kill A Mockingbird", it's the most power over others he's ever felt in his life. I find the entire sequence of events highly suspect.

This isn't a english paper. Who cares how I type? Regardless, the kid waiting for the day before to buy a hat is not suspect. Maybe he is trolling. I hope so, but it him not having the hat until today doesn't prove anything.

Actually, it's disirregardless. Shout out to my dude OriginalCanesCanesCanes.

Actually, no its not. OriginalCanesCanesCanes.
https://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/irregardless
Irregardless was popularized in dialectal American speech in the early 20th century. Its increasingly widespread spoken use called it to the attention of usage commentators as early as 1927. The most frequently repeated remark about it is that "there is no such word." There is such a word, however. It is still used primarily in speech, although it can be found from time to time in edited prose. Its reputation has not risen over the years, and it is still a long way from general acceptance. Use regardless instead.

and Disirregardless isn't even a word.

I have no idea what else is going on here but don't you EVER call into question the syntactic viability of "disirregardless", son.

Nesta would be an idiot to go play in a 3-4.

They promised him he could be featured NT and attract all kinds of attention, you know, double teams, triple teams, etc.

He's an attention *****.

If only someone could promise him quadruple teams.

I addressed this several days ago in another thread. I thought I had settled this.

It is not "disirregardless." It is "disregardless."

He's right. Disirregardless is not a proper word.

Irregardless is.

Disregardless is.

If nesta gone i will str8 up quit following recruiting lol

thats basically where I'm at. we play in ACC title game, OB, 10 win year w baseball player no starting RB, TE, or WR yet still can't get local elite guys to stay home if nesta does bounce (he's not going to UF imo)

I agree that typos are hardly sinful on a message board, but you walked into it asking if I had ever gone to high school. Concerning Nesta, I think we will both agree that no amount of evidence "proves" anything concerning verbal commitments. There's always a hole to poke in whatever new info comes to light, especially the day before signing day when everything turns upside down and madness reigns.

ya but I didn't mean it as a diss. It was to set up the next question where in HS you knew tons of kids would procrastinated. I do agree with you though. We won't know until tomorrow, but it is not a good sign. The kid literally said on snapchat that he's going gator and he's getting their hat.

When I was in college a lot of kids would procrastinated. Especially the freshmans.

If Silvera bounces, I think Richt is going to really think hard about going back to certain parts of Broward. He's too good and has been in the game too long to have to put up with this nonsense, have Silvera committed as the cornerstone of the defensive class for 11 months and leave the week of signing day.

Broward been playing games with UM for too long

Co-sign. If he bounces I'm done following this stuff. Feel like I'm wasting my time as it is since only 1/4 of these kids pan out anyway.

Personally, I think we're being trolled hard.

1. Too much leakage every time it's too pro-Miami.

2. Richt and Company ain't scrambling and haven't been scrambling for a while.

Sit back and enjoy the fireworks in our favor.......however, if we don't.......blood to pay from both Rumph and Kul. lol.

But on the real, we gotta stop being so hyper sensitive to everything...I learned my lesson from last year when I over reacted on Harley. These kids aren't the Sean T's of the world and this ain't Miami of early 2000's. Until we earn our keep, this is going to happen. If Richt starts panicking, then we should....but they've handled this whole process like bosses.

Just remember, TC wasn't supposed to visit; he was all UGA. Surtain didn't have us in his top 6. Nesta have been a loyal soldier, but now UF comes out of nowhere. Chatfield went from enjoying his visit immensely to now saying it was alright and didn't receive a NLI.

I'll be shocked if at least 2 of 4 didn't come here...but I still think all 4 sign up.

testify.webp

Spittin truth

Marcus Forston was the#1 DT in his HS class. And we all know how that worked out. How good is Nesta compared to Forston at the same stage?

Forston had all the athletic gifts in the world but was just flat out lazy. That's the difference.

You just described Nesta. (at times)

Exactly the reason I was never high on this kid. Talk too much. Forston would put Nesta on his a$$ if he was on offense. Like I said, the staff moved on the moment Coburn and Miller started flying into the picture.
