My complete knee-jerk reaction to today's scrimmage

Although today's scrimmage was close to the public
using today's stats...I'll attempt to draw a conclusion ,where I feel the team stands today...

Who getting it!

The offensive-line (by stat ) are coming together as a unit.
Cane's fan believe the Miami Hurricanes O-line looks
like Tarzan but plays like Jane over the past 4 years...

Talent has never been the problem but cohesiveness always has.

Bold prediction : Eric Flower will start the season at RT.

All-american in the making .....

Stephen Morris is finally believing in the talent of his arm..
I wont say Jacory held Morris back, with the friendly competition motto, but
Morris confident is sky high .We could see a All-american in the making.

Bold prediction: Stephen Morris goes 27+ TD in air /7+ TD on the ground =total 34 TD

Same ole song

It's highly unlikely to win a ACC or BCS championship without a dominate DL.
Al Golden is counting on Robinson and Porter to stay healthy. This DL have yet to show
they can be count on ,to stop any opponent running game.

Bold prediction: DeQuan Ivery and Earl Moore will see a lot of playing time
late in the season..

HelpHelpHelp

We need a pass-rushing specialist please apply:
Tyriq McCord,Ricardo Williams,Kelvin Cain,Dwayne Hoilett

Most of Chick sacks are delayed sack or coverage sack, finding a pass-rush
is Mark O'D numero uno priority...

Bold prediction:Ricardo Williams or Dwayne Hoilett will replace Green LDE spot.

Tidbits
Duke makes the lost of Miller a little easier to swallow
Wr Carter,D'Mauri Jones should red-shirt
WR Water is fight like **** for playing time..

Miami hurricanes are always at their best
when a top-flight return-man is on the roster. Can Phillip Dorsett be that guy?

Do you have faith in Luther Robinson ,Porter,Daruis Smith, and Olsen Pierre?

I'm out............1CN

I think Curtis Porter is going to knock somebody's head off, when it's show time.

Not bad man and thanks for sharing your opinion. I hope all of those things happen, but it is tough to put together those types of seasons with so many youngsters playing such a high majority of the snaps. Mental errors, dropped passes, wrong routes, missed assignments, etc makes it tough to have those types of seasons.

It's hard to predict stats, but I think Morris is going to surprise people if he can stay healthy. Even in that Maryland game last year, there were positives. He's got a nice arm, has got some wheels, fights to make plays, and seems to be a generally confident guy. He just has to make that leap mentally. I guess that's the big question, but I don't see why he couldn't do it. This is the first time in years that we've had the same OC work 2 years in a row with a young QB. The kid's got the tools. He needs the reps and lots of them. If he can get so lucky as to have solid O-line play, then there's no reason he can't be very successful.

I really like Morris. I feel like he has always played a little too mechanically if you will, but now that he is going to the clear #1 starter, he will just be able to sling it and play his game without worrying about Jacory. I think he'll have a very good year.

- I think Seantrell will definitely snatch the starting spot away from Flowers

- Stephen Morris will be more effective and successful than Jacory. (Not a Jacory diss)

- I think our D-line will be very good.... Coach Golden is just pushing these guys to surpass there own expectations.

- I think Dequan Ivery will get playing time but the bulk of it will still go to Porter, Smith, Robinson, and Pierre, unless somebody gets hurt. I have confidence in that group. Earl Moore may redshirt if he doesn't beat out Grimble.

- We do need a pass rushing specialists, that's why I think Shayon should move to Chicks side. Then we can See what Hoilett, Cain, and McCord can bring on the other end.

- I personally think Duke is a better returner than Dorsett.

Personally I feel like he should've played over Jacory last season, but agree being the clear cut starter should only help his confidence and allow him to play loose.

Harris ended his senior season completing 195-of-300 passes (65.0 percent) for 2,486 yards, 20 touchdowns, and nine interceptions
Mind you Nick Foles threw for 28 tds 14 ints. (he is currently in philly)
Harris ended his senior season completing 195-of-300 passes (65.0 percent) for 2,486 yards, 20 touchdowns, and nine interceptions. For his career at Miami, he had 8,826 passing yards, 70 touchdowns, and a pass efficiency rating of 135.0.
finer performances during his senior season included the games that were played against Kansas State, Virginia Tech, North Carolina, Virginia, Duke, and Florida State. Many of those games were hard fought as new head coach Al Golden's Hurricanes just came up short in several of them.

Here is the truth:

He played well enough for us to beat FSU Benjamin muffed a punt (Killed us) Streeter wen t out in second qtr and miller was hurt. Defensive no pass rush.
Played well against KSU defense didn’t
Outstanding against OSU , Duke and UNC
V-Tech (very good game) defense gave up TD on last drive.
We should have been 9-3 no worse than 8-4 last year
20 tds 9 ints and he threw about 4 against BC his worst game all year he was right around 70%
Career 135 passer rating. Cant blame Harris for last year “REAL TALK”

If his int to td ratio isn't about equal I'll be very surprised.

Just to be clear Morris' problems in the past had zippo to do with Jacory. In the past he locked on to receivers and threw heat whenever he threw the ball. That said, I think that he definitely has tremendous upside (not counting on him becoming an AA though) because you cannot coach arm strength into existence. Him sitting out really might have helped him with reading coverages and to work on the other aspects of his game. So I agree with wushah that for him it will be overcoming the mental hurdles. He will have a few young, but talented and hungry receivers in the mix. If they can run good routes and catch it will be an improvement over years past. If not, he may well be running for his life.
