Any of our close games during national title runs. BC in 2001 is iconic for the final play, but Dorsey's worst ever game could have destroyed that season. I believe we also had a close win against BC in 1991. Unfortunately the 8-7 win over Arizona is irrelevant because we **** the bed in the Sugar Bowl after the 1992 season.

The other game I think of is the one where TMac blocked the punt at WVU in the end zone (1996?) when they should have just taken a safety.

"Criteria is it has to be a win that to this day rarely gets talked about

Plus it had to be a win that had subsequent significance"

Lot of the games I see don't even come close to these 'rules'.

12-7 win over East Carolina in 83 --- **** near ruined the whole Schnelly thing.

20-16 over USCe in 87 --- ditto for Jimmy.

Michigan State almost beat us in '89. If they had, the FSU loss later would've put us out of it.

Was there a brawl in that game?

I was at the 8-7 win against Zona ... They missed a FG on the last play, right?

That is a truly forgotten game against a team that didn't take any ****. Michael Irvin vs Sterling Sharpe, and yes, there was a big *** brawl. Brian Blades **** near cold ****ed the Carolina quarterback from behind during the melee and after things settled down, the kid threw an interception. The crowd was crazy for blood that night to say the least.

September 24 1983 vs #13 Notre Dame Miami Orange Bowl • Miami, FL W 20–0 52,480

Big win that gave us momentum to go undefeated the rest of the season in 1983

I remember the huge steroid dude from ECU, Terry something. Yeah I remember sitting at that game thinking it's all going to go down the toilet right in front of me.
