Most disappointing group?

Dline for sure. Bain looks like a straight JAG, future UDFA. Lot of wasted money on portal players who didnt deliver. Etc.

Kiko was a BEAST last year. Was total liability this year, prob goes UDFA now. I knew Wes was meh despite all the hype. No other LB even did anything to be named. group sucked overall

We all knew DB would be a weakness but just wow. Not even worth the energy to type it all out

The worst group has been our DC and staff.

Final results show UM finished tied for 13th (with UVA) out of 17 ACC teams in in-conference play.

It can't be the case that throughout the entire defensive roster we couldn't field talent equal to or better than any of Cal, UNC, BC, Duke, GT, Louisville, VT, Pitt, Syracuse or SMU.

Here are the teams that held Syracuse to fewer or equal points: Ohio, GT, Stanford, Holy Cross (lmao), NC State, Pitt, VT, BC, Cal and UConn. If only we had the University of Ohio's or UConn's talent. Sigh. One can only dream.

And if folks still want to claim our defensive talent is worse than every single one of those other teams (I don't buy it personally) that's an indictment of our recruiting and evaluations, which is even a more scary thought given the purported strength of the staff is recruiting and evaluations.

Following the Leonard Taylor plan

Our guys look better in the NFL than they did playing in Guidry's defense. Our DL play has been a disappointment, but Leonard Taylor who was roundly criticized here last year is on an NFL roster and getting minutes as a rookie.

Same with Kinchens who got a lot of similar criticism being lobbed at our safeties this year. Not say our current safeties don't have talent shortcomings, but are they truly worse than the safeties at all but three other ACC defenses? Are they worse than the safeties at U of Ohio, UConn or Holy Cross who all held Syracuse to lower or equal points? If Kitchens playing well as a rookie in the League than at UM, who can say how much of our poor safety play this year is related to our current talent and how much is Guidry.

And to think Stanford, the second worse ACC team BEAT Syracuse
