I would not call the following an excuse, more of an emotional & logical justification. I believe this is true for EDGE, TE, and OL.
Miami can afford a weaker class, however MUST bounce back to championship form in ‘25, at certain positions because of the talent group brought in ‘24. With our LB recruiting post Shaq/Pinckney/Mccloud, the biggest issue was the ‘18 and ‘19 classes were below average. The program could have afforded a ‘17 LB class talent dip. Frankie and Kinsler look good. If they perform well, the ‘24 class can sustain a moderate drop off at Oline.
Since I do not expect this team to be title ready by 2025/2026, I just want a roster that can string together three consecutive 10 win seasons so Mario can pitch recruits with a real foundation.
