He didn't, and he doesn't.
Coley never talked to Bama. The only reason his name was linked to the job was his prior links to Cristobal and Saban.

Not bad news for us. We are so far removed from National relevence that it simply doesn't matter.
Even the teams in the Atlantic Division are really moot in terms of our interests (Petrino to UL matters only because it means losses to them in 2014 and 2015, but then we won't play for years).
The Coastal teams are the only programs that effect us. It's the lousy Coastal teams that have ruined 10 seasons in a row for us, and will most likely continue to.
We should worry about what Virginia, UNC, Duke, GT and the rest are doing. These are our peers and competition now.
We are so far away from worrying about Bama or 30 other OOC programs it isn't even funny.
I'm just hoping that someday we have to worry about FSU or Clemson because we're playing them in the ACC CG.

A lot of things. More money. Coming home. Avoiding a potentially toxic situation next year with his best friend. His value may not be as high next year if the team doesn't perform.

Thanks man, I can almost understand, I just get way to much of my ( fan) emotions involved when it's the team I have grown up loving. Let's hope the toxic situation with his best friend can be avoided!

I hate that he did this to my school and my team but looking at it as a man it is a business decision.
I just got a promotion and a raise and if someone came to me and said you can make more, less stress/pressure, and live at home... I would definitely listen. $ makes the world go round
with that said win the coastal or we BETTER find someone else

Saban just can't abide with his Alabama teams not being the most universally despised team every year in CFB. Hiring Kiffin is a masterstroke to build back the hatred after this year.

Bama is not good a THE OFFENSE....
This is a bad hire imo....Kiffin is not liked all that much....he isnt some offensive whiz etc....
And Saban actully just likes to pound the rock and run on d....not sling it around. Honestly for a back to back champ team our wr's imo are better than theirs.....but their OL and RBS are ELITE.
Kiffin is a clown and its funny Saban hired him as that dude Kiffin will try to be the smartest guy in the room....

Kiffin is a **** of a lot better OC than he was a HC. Besides, that prehistoric pound the ground **** is coming to a end. aTm, and Missouri, 2 teams from what was thought a weaker conference. Have came in and shredded SEC defenses into a panic. Those 2 every get a defense themselves. It will be nasty for the LSU/Bama types if they ever get behind. **** if Oklahoma had defense, it would have been extremely ugly in the Sugar Bowl.

James Coley was without his most explosive players for a good part of the year.
Morris badly injured ankle
Scott -broken collar bone- supensions
Duke - broken ankle
Dorsett - torn MCL
Hurns -injured
Waters -injured
Despite all the injuries that kept players out or ding up, Coley still put up over 500 yards of offense and about 30 points. To me that shows his coaching ability. He was able to still be productive with out star players and a decent QB
