Monroe Freeling Update

Anybody who believed we were telling a talent like Monroe to wait should be institutionalized.

very good friend is also on the teaching staff at OCA so i get some 'insight'
look back i shared some details
That stadium isn't too far of a drive. Do you know if they play any games further up 26?

I've always wanted Freeling in the class. Was saying to take 8 to make it happen. If Alinen goes to Bama, this is an outstanding backup plan.
I just personally don't understand how Freeling is a backup plan. I think we should be going all out for both Alinen and Freeling but obviously I trust the staff and they obviously know what they are doing

Freeling would be a take for me all day. There wouldn’t be a question of needing to green light it. He’s big, long, athletic with good feet and plays multiple sports, which is always a plus in my book.

Do I understand why the staff may be higher on Alinen over Freeling? Yeah….with Francis on board and Samson trending, it looks like we have bookend tackles and Olaus is a better flex fit to bump inside to guard (and plays more the road grader football Mario/Mirabal had at Oregon) while Freeling looks more tackle only. But our tackle depth has been *** for so many years and they are much harder to find, so I’m not passing on a guy like Freeling.

LT Samson Okunlola
LG Olaus Alinen
C Antonio Tripp
RG Tommy Kinsler
RT Francis Mauigoa

OT Monroe Freeling
OG Frankie Tinilau

Would be very difficult to keep 7 like this committed all cycle with other teams amping the pressure

Samson & Francis are the first round picks here and need to be priority 1

Landing 1 of Alinen or Freeling would be great

I guess Mario is selling he has some guards on this roster through the portal and our depth but tackles we need many.

This would be an all time epic haul and completely alter the trajectory of the program.

These were my thoughts the whole time though im high on Alinen likely more so over a Kinsler.

But i wanted Freeling all along because I have been shaky about this Tackle depth for far too long. Was expecting a portal instant starter honestly

not happy he is visiting Bama next weekend... Would be nice to prevent that visit if possible...

A bit tough to prevent a visit if he's in the wait and see limbo thing. Again, he's a take in my book all day, but if true, you can't blame a guy for looking around, especially one ranked as high as him.

I'll feel better once the Okunlola is on board and we get clarity on Kinsler and others. I would hate to miss out on a kid of this caliber bc we waited too long. By the sound of it, Mario has recruited him a long time, so let's see how it plays out.

Probably could've had him locked up already if the Fin hadn't ****ed around

Why do you say that? He's always said he was going to take all his visits and commit in the fall. We didn't have to slow play him or worry, he was always going to commit after these other guys. No reason to think Mario hasn't been relentlessly recruiting him straight through IMO.
