The gimmick offenses that have no chance are the pass happy versions like Mike Leach uses. He'd never win anything of consequence regardless of the talent at hand, with his 17 rushes per game. Teams like Auburn and Oregon are exactly the opposite. They spread the field to run the ball. Auburn's version is more lethal because it incorporates more variety of looks, including option based.

I thought Auburn would win big today because it was very similar to 2010, when they blew out South Carolina in the SEC title game one week after escaping the 24-0 deficit at Alabama. That South Carolina game was the best and most confident offensive game they played all season and the trend held up today.
 
What a joke the SEC has become. Over 100 points and a RB racking up 300 yards on the ground.
