Miramar DB Brian Edwards visit today

Just interviewed Edwards. Story up later....Canes in very good shape here
He just recently got offered by Florida last week too

He didn't even mention UF in schools that he was considering until I said, "what about UF? I know they offered you last week" and he said "oh yeah, them too"

So they taking 4 cbs and 3 safeties?

Even with our need at DB I can't see DBs taking 1/3 of this class ships, with the 4 they signed last year and an even more talented crop in 2018.I'm guessing 5 with 2 cbs,2 safeties and 1 of brin,iStewart or Edwards who can play both.

According to bartow they will. He said the staff is willing to take less at a few other spots like LB and D-line to fix the secondary.

Class break down.

I think that 4th CB is going to be a JUCO player, not a high school kid. 2018 is too talented to grab 4 CB's this year, especially when you're trying to sell playing time in 2018

I think they are looking for 3 or 4 in 2018 too. If they get bandy he is more of a slot guy, brini could end up at safety.

They have to take at least 4. Next year group is redwine, young, jackson, mayes, and henley. The last 3 are not miami caliber. On top of that henderson is a project.

Is he in the same echelon as Brini, Davis, Bandy, etc? He hasn't received near the attention that those guys have (which admittedly doesn't mean that much given the number of DB prospects in S. Florida year after year).

I like him better than both Brini and Davis. Bandy is more of a pure nickel guy so tough to compare them. Edwards can really cover

Wow, that's saying an awful lot. Brini and Davis have offers from almost all of the elite programs.

Brini is the best db in south Florida this year IMO

I agree that Brini may be the best CB prospect in SoFl this year. As far as Pete liking Edwards more than Brini and Davis I agree that Edwards>Davis. Edwards is one of these kids that could potentially blow up his senior year. I love Edwards versatility as I could see him at CB or S here. I think the staff is intent on taking both Brini and Edwards. I don't think Edwards is the plan B guy by design even if it does end up playing out like that.

I think that in the end we get Brini, Bandy, Henderson at CB. If Edwards commits soon he will have a spot as CB/S swingman. If we can reel in Marco Wilson we will. Hard to imagine the staff turning him down even if 2018 is loaded. These are the types of problems that good coaching staffs are faced with. Nice change isn't it?

And on the plus side a bigger safety can grow into an OLB potentially.

Some of our current DBs have to see the writing on the wall. Get better or move along. That is why I can see us signing the bigger classes.

Edwards is a stud, love that it sounds like he'll be a Cane.

It's pretty unreal how loaded the DB position is in South Florida in '17 and '18. Thank God we have this staff recruiting them, not that previous group of mouth breathers.

Stud...Played corner all spring again.

Kid is tall as **** at least 6'2-6'3 at corner. Went against pretty good prospects in spring against Dillard and pretty much shut them out.
Miramar plays wayyyy better comp than Mater Academy does...

I also like him at CB. He's fluid and I don't know if he's physical enough for S.
