Miramar DB Brian Edwards visit today

Miramar was going to make it to camp today as a team, but wasn't able to end up coming. Their HC Pierre Senatus brought Brian Edwards on campus though for an unofficial visit and I'm told that him and Banda had a great talk similar to the one between Banda and Brini last week.

Definite priority for the Canes. Bigger update on Edwards coming this weekend.

Pete. How many priorities do we have in the secondary? What happens with Billy Gibson if Daniel Wright, Cyrus ***an, Amari Carter or Keldrick Carper want in? How do they rank Marco, Chris, Trajan, brini, Shawn Davis and Brian Edwards?

That's 11 DBs. Assuming we take 5-7, who does the staff want the most? Hypothetically who would get cut if all 11 wanted in?

Different players. Carter is more of a pure safety where Edwards can play corner too.

They think Brini and Edwards are dynamic enough to be at corner or safety. I don't think defined positions will be as important in this system.
 
This class has to be bigger than 20-22....we're on too many folks right now...actively. If we have a great year this year, these studs are going to want to come here. If they start seeing all these NFL players come line up at our games showing love to the kids, they are going to want to come here. The excitement around here is so refreshing...not false hope either.

I think it's more like they have legit backup options incase their top targets choose elsewhere.Brini and Edwards are very similar in size,speed.They might just take the 1st of these 2 who commits.
 
I'm always uncomfortable talking about who is higher on the boards unless it's super clean like it was with McCloud and Shaq, S Coley, Kaaya, or Duke. When kids are bunched together, it's better to take the most committed early recruit or two, then let the rest sort itself out. You get their senior season to evaluate further that way, too.

He just recently got offered by Florida last week too

He didn't even mention UF in schools that he was considering until I said, "what about UF? I know they offered you last week" and he said "oh yeah, them too"

Yeah I already knew he was very high on Miami but it's good to see him pick up more big time offers. He should blow up ranking wise before the season is over

Is he in the same echelon as Brini, Davis, Bandy, etc? He hasn't received near the attention that those guys have (which admittedly doesn't mean that much given the number of DB prospects in S. Florida year after year).

So they taking 4 cbs and 3 safeties?

Even with our need at DB I can't see DBs taking 1/3 of this class ships,with the 4 they signed last year and an even more talented crop in 2018.I'm guessing 5 with 2 cbs,2 safeties and 1 of brin,iStewart or Edwards who can play both.

I like him better than both Brini and Davis. Bandy is more of a pure nickel guy so tough to compare them. Edwards can really cover

This state is loaded with DBs this year. How would you compare this to other years? I know next year is also loaded.
