cam has been sacked 11 times on 246 attempts ... and 2-3 of those sacks should have been throw aways

did a good job of managing losing your starting left tackle game 1

also, love kicking rivers inside to continue the development of bell ... slows mccoy's development a bit ... but both bell and mccoy still get important reps

i think our line is about to really take off as long as we remain healthy

How many sacks were avoided due to Cam's athleticism buying time, etc.?

It’s crazy because as much as Cam has been highlighted as QB of the week for the ACC I felt we’ve easily had OLinemen who should’ve been recognized more for their efforts. They’ve been super impressive as a unit.

It helps but statistically mobile quarterbacks tend to get sacked more than pocket passers because they will often extend plays too long. Van Dyke was a statue and he barely got sacked here despite playing behind a terrible offensive line.

There have been rough spots we don't notice as much because Cam just buys time or escapes completely. It's a huge help to them. But I do agree that they are jelling and performing well and getting better as the season goes on, unlike some other units...

Should be a dangerous force to be reckoned with by the ACCCG.

Cooper looks like he’s having fun out there. Dude is dancing and pumping up the crowd
Unfair statememt imo. The days of "Bernie Kosar" are over. Can't have a QB that can't move. No college program worth anything can have a QB that isnt at least a little mobile. Every QB in the top 10 can move around. (maybe Iowa States QB is a statue I havent seen him play)

9 sacks in the last 3 games is concerning. But at least a few of those are coverage sacks and holding the ball too long. Overall they are playing well, still better than anything cam had to play with at Washington state

no lies told, it's the reason i don't think emory starts next year ... unless we miss the boat in the portal ... based on cam's success and our returning oline starters (bell, mauigoa, mccoy, potentially cooper) we should be able to lure a big time prospect

2 of those three games we didn't have our all conference tackle ... for comparison, cam is on pace to be sacked the least amount of times since his freshman year at incarnate word (sacked 17 times that year) ... last year at washington state he was sacked 38 times

Yeah, they were comically bad up front last season.

If Wazzu had somehow beat every NIL offer that came Cam's way, he probably would've responded "not with these offensive linemen"

Bingo; that’s y it’s important to watch the games.

Here’s a fun fact: in 2023 between TVD & Williams, by game 7 we gave up a total of 6 sacks; 3 of which came against then #12 UNC.

In fact, I would argue if either one of those QBs still were QB1 here, that 11 sacks given up would probably be around the 16-18 mark. Cam has broken & gotten out of a few sack scenarios w/ his strength & athleticism.
