The comment about Gooden is B.S. Gooden was decent and not anything better until his last year, which coincidentally was Barrow's first year. He had a very good senior season.

He was injured all of 2005. Came back in 2006 and was already pretty good playing only part time. He had a pretty good senior season.

There was no marked improvment due to Barrow's presence. Gooden like Sharpton was always just OK.

Bull****, Gooden was nothing but average and a disappointment until his senior year when he switched to the middle and had a great senior year.

Why would he?

We had 600+ yards of offense and our QB missed a ton of throws and our OC still gets **** on.

He had 41 tackles as a part time player and 9 tackles in the bowl game in 2006.

You don't know what the fu*k you are talking about.

You must think that his mediocre play in the middle in 2007 on that shi*ty squad was somehow some grand improvement but it wasn't.

Gooden was still just Gooden. Just another guy. You are operating under the assumption that he at some point he stopped being a dissapointment.

Now I remember why I had your immature, petulant self on ignore. Not only can you not avoid personal attacks on the football board, you're also denying that Gooden was much improved in 2007.

Some people on this board just stick their fingers in their ears and cry.

He looked better because he played more. Period. He was not "much improved".

You are the one not giving any credit to the fact that Gooden had a severe injury that caused him to miss a year in 2005 and work his way back.

LMAO. Nothing is more immature than putting someone on ignore.

Barrow is a mediocre linebacker coach. You can continue to keep one thumb in your mouth and the other up your *** if you like but it won't change the facts.

Fentress actually looked pretty good yesterday. I think Barrow is doing a good job. EJ is turning into a beast.

Barrow's never gotten the respect he deserves as a coach. The LB coach isnt in charge of defensive scheme or recruiting, so a lot of the complaints about our LBs during his tenure have been unfairly attributed to Barrow. Barrow has helped develop kids consistently, IMO. In addition to the progression of the current group, he has helped develop pros in Spence, McCarthy, Sharpton, Gooden, Adkins.

Barrow sux.

Spence was a natural
McCarthy looked promising as a true frosh and then regressed under Barrow only to finally start playing closer to(but not entirely to) his potential by his Senior year. Just like Sharpton.
Adkins was a wasted talent who only contributed minimally late in his career.
Buchanon, Arthur Brown & Tavares Gooden were highly recruited talents with superior athletic tools that barely if ever developed under Barrow.

I doubt you tell that to his face!

I obviously disagree with mico and think he sounds pretty bitter the way he expressed his view, but that said your comment is lame and reflects poorly on you. Whether his view is right or wrong is not related to whether he would say it to barrow. And if he wouldn't, all you've effectively suggested is he's scared of barrow becoming violent, which suggests you don't think much of barrow as a human being, and in any case doesn't mean his comment is therefore wrong.

I actually think very highly of Barrow, one of my all time favorite canes. It's easy to hide behind a c/putter screen and call people names. One thing is to have an opinion, another is to insult them. You and I know most don't have the ball to say it to their face.

Didn't TGood have over 100 tackles in 07?

EDIT - just looked it up. He had exactly 100.

Most of them of the pile humping or down field variety.

What's your point? Obviously there was no John Beason on the squad in 2007

Oh yeah? Do they keep "pile humping or down field variety" stats in college? Interesting.

His senior year was good enough to get him drafted in the 3rd round. Don't be a fool.
