Can u guys please give barrow credit for the development of our linebacker's because they seem to play with a lot of heart and fire a lot of people on this site wanted him fired but its shows he can coach

Barrow's never gotten the respect he deserves as a coach. The LB coach isnt in charge of defensive scheme or recruiting, so a lot of the complaints about our LBs during his tenure have been unfairly attributed to Barrow. Barrow has helped develop kids consistently, IMO. In addition to the progression of the current group, he has helped develop pros in Spence, McCarthy, Sharpton, Gooden, Adkins.

Barrow sux.

Spence was a natural
McCarthy looked promising as a true frosh and then regressed under Barrow only to finally start playing closer to(but not entirely to) his potential by his Senior year. Just like Sharpton.
Adkins was a wasted talent who only contributed minimally late in his career.
Buchanon, Arthur Brown & Tavares Gooden were highly recruited talents with superior athletic tools that barely if ever developed under Barrow.

If eddie "just gets it" im sure barrow deserves credit. Pcity do you ever give credit.

Ignore button time

im not sold on barrow as being a great coach because are still seeing the older kids like gaines be terribly out of position, make poor reads and fail to finish plays entirely too often. there have been some positives from the LB group during his time, but there are still too many of the same negatives that show year after year regardless of who hes working with that year

how am i not giving credit? i truely dont know if he is a good coach or not. our LB's have been average during his tenure here.

Giving credit to Eddie because he is a freshmen going beast mode.

I will say him being retained by Golden in the midst of all this crap tells me golden thinks hes a good coach, and thats good enough for me.

I doubt you tell that to his face!

I obviously disagree with mico and think he sounds pretty bitter the way he expressed his view, but that said your comment is lame and reflects poorly on you. Whether his view is right or wrong is not related to whether he would say it to barrow. And if he wouldn't, all you've effectively suggested is he's scared of barrow becoming violent, which suggests you don't think much of barrow as a human being, and in any case doesn't mean his comment is therefore wrong.

The comment about Gooden is B.S. Gooden was decent and not anything better until his last year, which coincidentally was Barrow's first year. He had a very good senior season.

Our LBs are playing the run very well

But they still aren't comfortable in coverage besides Perryman and AT TIMES EJ

Good Post.

FYI, Barrow is my favorite Cane LB ever. Over Ray Lewis, Vilma, Tiger Clark, etc. I have nothing against him personally.

No bitterness here though. I think he's a mediocre coach and hasn't gotten the best results from some talented players.

Instead some supremely natural and instinctfully talented guys(Spence, Perryman) have made him look better than he is.

Somebody give me the scoop on #57.. On the roster his name is Nantambu-Akil Fentress... I seen him on special teams and seen him get some playing time on defense yesterday..

He was injured all of 2005. Came back in 2006 and was already pretty good playing only part time. He had a pretty good senior season.

There was no marked improvment due to Barrow's presence. Gooden like Sharpton was always just OK.

Disagree with this. Gooden got a lot better his last year. We can debate why, but the fact that it happened seems clear to me.
