Campbell and Surtain were tough to let go. Classy kids, thoughtful, great families, and of course elite talents. Sometimes desire clouds reason. We all took wishful thinking to art form levels. That includes many of us, Pete, probably the coaches and other resources that fed Pete. We had the last weekend, the last in house visits, and other advantages that only being local can give and yet in retrospect there were other indicators pointing elsewhere. We need to go easy on the staff they did all they could possibly do and based on the above we shouldn't be hard on ourselves.

We just landed the #5 class in the nation w/the top Dt, Rb,WR, CBs and the narrative is “we’ll never land elite kids again, like the sec.” nice try man.
 
Very good class, just not elite. I almost got sucked in, really just about thought one would surprise us. The key to me was the dumpster fire we had at the end of the season and when UGA made the title game I said to myself that TC was gone.

We're landing more elite players than we did the '80's.

It's just the competition is tougher.

I've been following recruiting since 1985. Read everything there was to read on recruiting before the internet. Did have legitimate inside sources to whom I talked frequently.

A lot of the kids we did get are among the best in the country: Pope, Lingard, Williams, Jordan, Scaife, Silvera, Hall.....etc., etc.

Even with loss of AH2.

It was a great, great class. One of the best in UM history.

With Richt we should be contenders for the coastal almost every year!!
 
Yeah we really gotta quit moping around because we lost TC and PS2.

They knew from the beginning that they were always looking at the SEC schools and at no point was there a clear cut sign that said Tyson was going to end up here. Christ we knew PS2 wasn’t ending up here. DSJ pulled the wool over some of our eyes.

I never once said we were getting them. I said we had a shot and i said an opinion. Thats youre problem if you dont know what an opinion is. Its funny listening to this moronic talk yet all the same **** i told yall throughout the year that wwas supposedly wrong ivins who apparently knowz what hes talking about confirmed to yall in his recruiting behind the scenes article just last week. Past that grow up if an opinion is gonna get yall on suicide watch.

these guys spent years getting gassed up by pete and not listening to other people who also had ins. TC is coming, Jobe is coming, Anthony Macfarland is coming, we're in it for dalvin cook, Butch Davis being rehired, etc Meanwhile, Brooklyn, Macho, tweed say things contrary and you guys get mad. smh.

Most of em act like recruiting isn't the most fluid **** ever, we talking about ******* 16, 17 and 18 yr olds. Most of the kids tell coaches one thing and the next week (**** even the next day) something else is being said to coaches. Dee has been right about most of the stuff he post y'all gotta stop acting like some females over teenage kid's change their mind. Recruiting ain't built for the weak..

If u thought we couldnt get kids because of AG u must of been asleep during Coker and Shannons years. Until we bag up with a coach that doesnt give a **** then u will see those types of classes, also when coaches leave the recruiters behind the scenes stay its why u see UF bring in top kids with weirdo *** coaches. U ever ask yourself how can UF recruit with a bozo at coach, answer the recruiters r still there those bag men.
 
Honestly, I think early signing day is what lead to the mopes around here.

Had we signed this entire class last week, instead of waiting on word from just a handful of kids, most of these guys would've been fine with it.
