Michigan 's BOT vs. Ours....

http://businessofcollegesports.com/data/2013-14-fbs-football-finances/

Michigan - $58.4 million profit 2013-2014 season.
Miami - $5.5 million profit

Michigan - 42k enrollment
Miami - 16k

Michigan - state funded
Miami - private

Michigan - 100k stadium filled weekly
Miami - 30k is a good day against teams not names FSU

How does Miami compete? Location and tradition. Otherwise, in today's college landscape, it would be wiped off the map.

Not sure where that website got its info but here's USA Today's and notice UMiami is not listed

http://www.usatoday.com/sports/college/schools/finances/?fullsite=true

These stats that he put out there doesn't even make sense. I have no idea where they got those numbers either.

Tin Foil Man!

money is, in fact, the reason they won't let him go right now. UM has very little of it, and apparently, according to their cost/benefit analysis, it's cheaper to keep him for next year.

Link to support any of the three assertions you made?

.

None.

And let us return to the MONEY MYTH Thread...POOR UM!!!! We're so poor!

Except one guy is a great coach with a proven track record and the other guy should be selling hoopties on Calle Ocho.

****InHeelCuntry doesn't learn, he loves to mouth of about things he's completely uninformed about, see Lena Dunham thread. UM has tons of money. Billions in revenue and almost 200M of operating income coming into the school each year. Unfortunately, the athletic program get little of it, because it's all tied up digging the school out of the massive amount of debt Donna Shalalas delusional UHealth vision brought onto the school. On two seperate occasions UM has ran billion dollar fundraising drives, thanks to Sergio Gonzalez. It's funny new unprofitable UHealth buildings keep popping up every year, massive salaries and benefits packages keep getting handed out to medical employees, but the football field doesn't even have ******* lights. Cedar's hospital and many of these other health facilities have put a massive financial strain on our school. Our credit rating has gone down from high leverage and overexposure to the healthcare industry. Not too mention over 800M in unfounded pension liabilities promised to employees. There's three things Shalala was good at. Schmoozing with rich people, lying to prop herself up, and spending money she didn't have that wasn't hers. The school is so poorly run, because she's surrounded herself with a bunch of useless yes men and political cronies across every level, and she's ran wild. The medical campus is so mismanaged, from employees stealing millions in drugs somehow going unnoticed for months, to billing issues costing in the millions, to completely missed revenue projections leading to massive layoffs.

You're shocked with UHealth, the school's biggest source of revenue being so corrupt and mismanaged that other wings of the school wouldn't be? The athletic department had the whole Shapiro mess, we've had 5 athletic directors, 4 in the past 6 years, and 3 failed head coaches, all who were extended.

She's been a disease on our school. We have "no money" because our cash is tied down trying to stay afloat and maintain liquidity paying off our debt and pension liabilities.

And after 10 straight awful seasons, shunning of the fanbase by destroying the Orange Bowl, the Shapiro scandal, poor relations with the local community, and an effort to distance ourselves from our history, the school is shocked nobody wants to donate anymore? UM was the premier program in the country when Shalala took over and completely missed the college football boom. Because she's clueless and athletics don't click with her. Larry Coker was one of the highest paid coaches in the country when he won and got extended, did we all of a sudden become broke relative to everyone else? After all that time, while coaching salaries have exploded, facilities upgrades are the norm, and college football is huge business, we still don't have ******* lights on our practice field.

The other UM is a public school. Tax payers money

But its the Boosters, not the school that is paying for his salary... did little old Nevin run our boosters scared with his shenanigans??

When's the last time our Boosters laid out any kind of serious money? I'll go with "never." In large part because we have so few boosters. Michigan's booster base is likely 100X larger than ours.

Momentum 1 and Momentum 2. Donna tapped in deep and hard.

Not to mention they massively overpaid for that Cedars facility by about 3x it's true worth. All because they were in such a rush to steal medcaire patients from Jackson Memorial. No wonder they can't afford a real coach and facilities.
