Miami 56

battery / domestic violence
I bet you go back in time and look at posts when his recruitment was announced you will find a ton of them claiming things like “its good to get a thug” and “this is the kind of guy Miami” needs. Now look…
Aside from the fact that this kid never made it away from the meal table and on to the field, it looks like he simply couldn’t help but ***** up the one big gift he had, as scholarship to UM, that would get him off the streets. That is pretty sad but it is also his responsibility.
The other point to be taken from this failed experiment is that this serves as additional confirmation that this isn’t 2001 anymore. This “internets” thing that Al Gore piloted has opened up the world as has the rest of social media. These transgressions might have gone unnoticed in the past but now they are posted on message boards and tweeted around the world before the kid gets bailed out of jail.
All you screaming to “Bring Back Butch” with hope of turning back the clock to the U’s greatest days are shouting into a very strong wind. The administration and BOT have no interest in going back there as they know the world is different, as is college football. I do believe they want to win but getting Butch Davis to pull them into a time machine looks like Michael Wyche’s mug shot to them; like it or not.

what in thee f@#! are you talking about??? i'm sorry, did ed reed, clint portis, sean taylor, antrel rolle, phil buchannon, mike rumph, santana moss, reggie wayne, al blades, jeremy shockey, or any other high profiled player under his watch have any mug shots? I see you don't post much on here, so does us all a favor...continue that trend. The least amount of posters on this board say THEE most idiotic things.
If you don't want Butch, fine...whatever, but don't just flat out make up lies. Butch kicked hella players off the team. We weren't considered Thug U under his watch...we just beat everyone b/c they were disciplined and was better than everyone.

Relax with the vitriol and chest thumping.
I wasn’t arguing all those guys were thugs in any way. I am pointing out a perception that people have of Miami and how the administration is keenly aware of it.
My ONLY point was to highlight, frankly what MANY others are saying, that bringing back Butch is seen, could be construed as, looks like, reaching back to a past. While many, and most on this board, see that as a glorious past I don’t believe those who make the hiring call, namely the BOT and current administration are looking to re-create that.
I might be wrong but it sure looks to me that if its “Butch or else” for many of you guys (and I saw 97% voted against Mario in a poll elsewhere on this site) I think you are looking at a steep hill.
It’s a valid observation whether you like it or not. The world is different and College Football is very different than it used to be.
Again! Again! Again!...........AA male not appreciating, accepting and adjusting to the professional development the college experience is. They don't think they living unless they ****ing up or looking ****ed up!

TOTAL BULLSCHITT
Just another Fraulden debating trick; trying to control the debate around an irrelevant point. Since when is "reaching back to the past" relevant to football? Is Butch promoting the Single Wing?
