Met Mike at a card show in 2007 - he signed his UM jersey and also two posters
- That same day/morning we lost to Nth Carolina and Mike didnt know
- I told him
- The pain in his face was real - NO ONE cares more about this school than the playmaker
- That is why my lisc plate is CANES47

PS The posters referenced above - these were the ones that had the schedule on them from the FINAL year in the OB - Mike is wearing his canes jersey one the OB field
- one day I will got on the site and offer to trade the second poster with someone that has something equal in value

Playmaker is 100 FŨCKIN percent right. We need to show up and show out as fans. These kids are putting their damñ hearts and souls in this campaign.

Facing crazy adversity and living according to the standards set many moons ago.

They need to feel us & feel the pride that comes from knowing your community is 100% behind you.

Yes we have flaws. Yes we haven’t walked through some gas bag SEC schedule etc etc…

Fück all that noise. We are everyone’s Super Bowl & we have never once shrunk when those lights came on. Man if that’s not worthy of our ( CANES Nation ) support than it’s time to keep it moving buddy.

He's not smart enough to understand that stats only tell part of the story when determining the greatness of a player in a team sport. Mike played with statistically the greatest RB in history, and often times would only receive targets in the first half of games. 2nd of all Mike also never played in a pass friendly west coast offense, where one of the core tenets is treating short passes like an extension of the run game.

Most importantly though, Mike was the emotional heartbeat for a dynasty. He played & retired for the same team that drafted him, and is inducted in that team's ring of honor. Conversely, T.O was such a cancer that multiple teams decided to move on from him in his prime. All of those teams felt that his talent did not outweigh how divisive his presence was in the locker room. Even though, I applaud him for playing on a broken ankle in Super Bowl XXXIX, in some ways it is fitting that his team still lost the game, and he ended his career with 0 rings.
 
My favorite Irvin game was actually a loss in the '94 NFC champship game. Early on, nothing is going Dallas's way and Mike gets stripped and fumbles (after what would'nt have been ruled a catch today).

He finished with 12/192 and 2 TDs.

SF was shuffling different looks at him the entire game: he was either double covered by a corner and one of SF's all-pro safeties, or one-on-one with Deion Sanders, who was having his greatest season ever. At one point you can see/hear Deion slap his hands and scream 'D@mn!' after getting beat in the second half.

There's a reason T.O. was a great receiver, but Mike is a champion.

Thats my favorite ******* game too. Michael would not quit

Larry Allen was getting beat like a drum as rookie and he decided this **** aint never happening again. Troy just kept getting up. It was almost like they won the Super Bowl in the second half of that game. They were on some real warrior ****.
