The hard truth is, we have to PAY.

This idea that we're going to recruit at an elite level without paying money upfront for recruits is just a fairytale.

Whoever is in charge of putting this kind of thing together needs to get with the fckin program, these kids & their families want/need money, so GIVE THEM SOME FCKIN MONEY.

Winning will help, but in order to win you need talent, can't get talent without paying for it. Can we win with the talent we have sure, but there's a limit to it, if we want to win the ACC & compete in the playoffs & have a shot at national titles we have no choice but play the bag game. If all we're trying to do is win 10 games maximum & look respectable, then just keep doing what we've been doing.

If you have great X's & O's coaches that can get the most out of your talent & overachieve then that can help speed up the process of turning the program around into winning more on an annual basis, but if you got big goals & more than just being another middle of the road program you're going to have to pay, it's just that simple.

I know most think Miami cannot play the bag game at all because Shapiro, Shapiro, Shapiro, I get it... I'm just simply telling you, the only way we're ever going to get back to recruiting at an elite level where we have top 5 classes on the regular, is if we pay these kids to stay home.

Haven’t lost to Duke at home since 1974. I wasn’t born yet, that’s a BS lie. Teams with top 10 QBs can beat anybody. Clemson lost to Pitt, had a FG missed to not lose to NC ST, then won the natty. Losses happen but they also keep there best players home.

Ok, should have went in 2000 (probably would have won) 2001 would have been back to back. 2002 people say we got cheated but TBH game should have never been that close and we let OSU convert on a crucial 3rd and 12 late in the game, was good enough to go in 2003, ok you might be on to something....maybe, but not quite the 80's, but I do understand what you are saying.

its been said a million times before, but if we aren't going to play the bag game, we have to be consistently winning. these kids are 17... most have watched their families struggle financially too....Go to Clemson,BAMA,UGA - get paid and possibly get a Ring.. Or go to Miami and lose to Duke, and get 0.... I'm not sure why its so hard for some fans to realize we aren't really bringing much to the table in the new world of recruiting. Have to change that to get the Gems.

Right coach can change this sh*t fast, if manny do what he has done to to the defense to the entire team then we might be on to something with him that’s for sure. Hopefully he’s that guy we need

Pack it up boys. Let's go home. Sell all your merch. Tell CanesWear to close up shop. Let's go root for the Patriots or Tiger Woods or some ****. We're not winning Nattys. It's not worth it anymore.

These **** 5* kids 17-18 year olds can't look past hundreds of thousands of dollars to play a violent sport prone to injury instead of opting to play for our team instead and those losers are why we won't ever win anything worthwhile anyway.

It could take 2 yrs or up to 10 yrs but we can't expect to realistically land the elite of the elite especially in SoFla until we can start making the acccg on a regular basis. My goodness we have 1 10 win season in the last 15-20 yrs right? We have to start somewhere. Landing recruiting classes in the range of 20 - 25th ranked is good enough to win the Coastal. For the most part we've done that or better and only won the Coastal once since we joined the ACC. If Manny is the coach I think he is he'll get us back on top. It's going to take time and patience from everyone.

Who else has been on probation for 6 years for kids having their dinners paid for in any conference? How many schools have the NCAA hired ppl to try and bust them in the last however many years you just named? You don’t think that affects a program? When your best two players on defense are kicked off the team bc they didn’t have to pay full price for rental cars? It’s impossible to beat the team and the refs, this is the same case. Bama can buy chargers for kids but we can’t even rent them at half price for a weekend.

This is over more than 1 elite DE. It’s been elite talent the last several cycles. You can compete and you occasionally get lucky with a highly rated kid who loves Miami but the writing is on the wall. Some teams pay more than others and those schools will continue to shine as long as they don’t miss horribly on QBs or do something so stupid the NCAA will have no choice but to slap their wrists.

As other posters stated, you need to lock in the few highly rated kids who are Miami and supplement with kids who are lesser rated but have elite measurables to mold or guys who are dogs and willing to fight harder than the rest......and hope you get a team that helps and overachieves. You can’t count on coordinators bc that money is getting out of hand as well and these guys will bounce in 2-3 years for head jobs.
