48-18 in the paint-

FG% from midrange and 3 pt land pathetic-

20 straight losses I believe to power 4 opponents going back to last season-

Worst team since resurrecting the program in 85-

20 losses is almost guaranteed.

It’s insane how bad we are defensively. We now rank 308 out of 364 on kenpom. These numbers make Lance Guidry blush.
We're defenseless inside.

Also, who evaluated Brandon Johnson in the Portal. He's starting and playing major minutes and averaging 3.5 ppg against ACC competition. In three of the four games, he's put up 0, 2 and 3 pts.

Is it fair to ask if Miami will win a conference game this season?
I am actually starting to think Coach L left the program in worst shape then when he arrived.
starting to think?? I think it's obvious at this point this program is in much worse shape as we sit in 2025 than when Coach L took over in 2011. Not in the aspect of not knowing what this program can do, which is make a final 4, but current roster construction. Miami was 21-15 and 6-10 in ACC year before L took over.

I think some people will get the question confused. They will think about all of the things Miami accomplished under Coach L, which is valuable. That is all important but what foundation is left to build on for next season.
That is the question when you are evaluating the status of the program.
You brought up a great point, Miami was 21-15 and 6-10 in the ACC before Coach L arrived. It's fair to say the team/program was projecting upwards.
Currently, Miami is 4-12 and 0-5 in the ACC.
This will be a complete rebuild whoever the next HC is. I think most of the players leave. Maybe Djobet, Schwartz and Divine stay. Bethea probably turns pro.
It's definitely a complete rebuild as I don't see a core to build around.
Even if those guys stay and you decide to build with them, they have to play to get better so bring in a bunch of mid majors kids will not work as that will kill their development.
Maybe you bring in 5 grade transfers to help fill out the roster and provide depth.
Very interesting times in Coral Gables right now.

Bethea not going pro. We would have as much as a shot as anybody - if the next staff even wanted to keep him (at the cost it would take to do so).

Bethea, Divine, Djobet, and Schwartz is a pretty nice group to inherit. Heard good things about Huie (as a depth piece on a really good team) and he’s got another year.

With the current state of NCAAB and the transfer portal, there’s more than enough to build off of for the next coach to win quickly.

The program has resources that Coach L could only dream of when he first took the job (from the training facility, to the stadium upgrades, to budget allocations for support and travel and recruiting, to fans who remember what it’s like to have a final four team only a few years ago, etc).

Don't fool yourself DaLuckyOne is deliriously happy to see the program struggle. While we were making it to the Final Four he was crying about Aj Casey and Christian Watson not getting enough minutes when neither one was a any good

Just curious, do you remember the record of the team before Coach L took over?
I was trying to figure out if the program was in a better situation when Coach L departed compared to when he arrived.
