And the ACC didn't have Pitt and Syracuse back then. Coach L is a beast.

I'm actually looking forward to seeing how this team will fare in the NIT. If we can manage to go deep in that, then Coach L really is the mythical being they spoke of in the prophecy
 
Kind of shows what good coaching can do even being devoid of talent. I would like to see Coach L become the defensive coordinator.

Let's hope we get there. .500 or under record (where we are now) basically rules us out, as does our current RPI of 117. If we could get a little consistency going into the ACC tournament and get maybe 4 more wins, we'd be almost guaranteed to be above .500 and have a shot at it.

And just for some history, and for those who are not inclined to believe that we'd be left out of the NIT, here are some key years to note (total records are on Selection Sunday):
2012-2013: 27-6, 15-3 ACC, 3-0 ACCT (CHAMPS) - NCAA
2011-2012: 19-12, 9-7 ACC, 1-1 ACCT - NIT
2010-2011: 19-14, 6-10 ACC, 1-1 ACCT - NIT
2009-2010: 20-13, 4-12 ACC, 2-1 ACCT - NO POSTSEASON
2008-2009: 18-12, 7-9 ACC, 0-1 ACCT - NIT
2007-2008: 21-9, 8-8 ACC, 1-1 ACCT - NCAA
2006-2007 - 12-20, 4-12 ACC, 1-1 ACCT - NO POSTSEASON
2005-2006 - 16-15, 7-9 ACC, 1-1 ACCT - NIT
2004-2005 - 16-12, 7-9 ACC, 0-1 ACCT - NIT

So, the average of our NIT years (Haith and L) is 17.6 wins, and 7.8 ACC wins (including tournament, in 16 game regular seasons). That's the benchmark for an NIT berth, and at 13-13 (4-9), we've got some work to do.

Whether we make it to the NIT or not, we are in a rebuilding year, we have a 13-13 record and we've beaten Florida State, North Carolina and Notre Dame. Not bad!

It's not even really a rebuilding year. Half of the guys in the rotation, including guys getting a lot of minutes, are dead weight Haith leftovers that will be gone next year.
