Miami Vs LEhigh game thread

Some random stuff:

- We shot 21 3PTs (8-21) in the first half and finished with (14-32) in the game. Expect us to shoot more than 25 Per Game with Dewan out. I will take 14-32 every game (haha)
- FTs: 23-32 (71.9%) as a team.

How about the starting 5? [78 points in total and everyone in double digits]

- Sam missed a bunch of time and had 11 Points, 4 Rebounds, 2 Assists and 1 Steal. Not bad.
- DJ missed some time in the first half and had 16 Points, 3 Rebounds and 2 Assists
- Amp with a double double (19 Points, 13 Rebounds, 3 Blocks, 3 Steals and 2 Assists).
- Lykes...wow. 22 Points, 5 Rebounds, 4 Assists, 2 Steals (3PT: 4-8, FT: 8-11). The only issue was he had a bunch of bad takes and shot 5-17 (FG).
- Izundu had 10 Points, 9 Rebounds, 3 Blocks and 1 Assist. The key is he ONLY had 3 fouls.

Even More Random:

- Deng Gak played better this game than any point during Miller's whole tenure. Gak didn't even score a point but he had 3 Blocks, 6 Rebounds and 1 Assist. Keep in mind Gak is the backup and will likely be ahead of Miller next year. Also, this is Gak's first actual game.

The Really Bad:

- Not really concerned but Zach Johnson looked bad.

Was definitely pretty brutal the majority of the game, to put it kindly..should've let the dude who was screaming earlier in the game get some time as a guest speaker or something
 
Worst commentated game I’ve ever watched. Two frickin idiots, the flagrant foul was a joke. Solid free throw shooting down the stretch, liked the d and the offense in the first 10 minutes of the game and last 10 minutes of the game.

Gotta love Lykes just needs to keep it under control a little bit, Amp played solid, Izundu solid has to stay out of foul trouble this year, DJ played great, Johnson and Mack had rough games, Gak was solid on d, and The Warden played well too just needs to be more active rebounding. Idk what is going to happen with Hernandez but it better get figured out very soon.

Amp played slightly better than “solid”. IMO, 19 Points, 13 Rebounds, 3 Blocks, 3 Steals and 2 Assists is very “solid”.

* Rodney Miller should never be compared to anybody. Obviously Gak produced more. He has some athletic ability. Next year he'll be 20 pounds heavier and stronger

* More threes sounds cute until a smart ACC foe knows that's all you have, and makes you looks stupid while contesting every one. Virginia big candidate to make us look stupid at least once

* Izundu got rid of the shoulder shimmee shake before every free throw attempt. Disappointing. It was his signature move for three seasons, and always entertaining. But obviously he believes a quicker process serves him well, and indeed it looked better tonight

Coach L said in the presser: "well, it's the new modern game, look at Rockets and Warriors, shooting 3's, its a new game" as a sort of cop out on the reliance on them tonight, by both teams. Well, it is exciting for a fan.
 
Was working on call today, didn't watch the game. I am seeing the stat line, but how did the team look overall?

Yeah, 5-10 from the field, 4-7 from 3 2-2 from line 16 points in 26 minutes., including 13 in the 2nd half after being in foul trouble in the 1st. Solid game.

Not so much of a copout, as a statement of fact. Unless you are feasting at the rim, you are better off taking threes, especially if you have shown the ability to hit them. The midrange jumper is pretty much a thing of the past.

Amp really looked great. He was my Player of the Game. Very smooth 3 point stroke. Nothing but net on most of those threes. On the negative side, I'm surprised how non-physical Izundu is. Doesn't seem to have much elevation and seems very reticent to try to go up strong in traffic around the basket and jam the ball. Weak hands?
