Miami vs Duke: I’m ready for Cam to throw 10 times on Saturday

Interior runs and TE leaks should dominate. Seriously though we should have 35+ rushes and have Cam under center a bit even for some PA though we never do that.

Then you haven't watched much of both of them.

Luke is dreadful. Maybe he's going to be good in a year or two, but he's nowhere near as good as Murphy right now. Not even close. Murphy has thrown for over 200 yards in every single game except the one that this board probably watched, the FSU game. FSU couldn't throw for 200 yards against air. Star Thomas is better than any back FSU has.

I'm not saying the Duke offense is good. It's terrible. But FSU has arguably the very worst offense of any Power 4 school. I truly believe that. In year 5, at Florida State, with a coach making $10M a year, who is an offensive coach and calls the plays, FSU has the absolute stone worst offense of any power 4 team in the country.

Duke sucks. FSU is biblically bad.

I have watched plenty of both of them (although not much out there from Luke)

...but there is not much to argue with that point. FSU is very bad.

I’d like to see a few of those middle wide receiver screens. They ran one against FSU but never went back. Very effective against an aggressive pass rush/man coverage.
Ditto.

I would like to see that middle screen to Lofton we just missed against VT. Elijah would have walked into the endzone.

I agree the rushing yards will be there, but the #He1sman race dictates Cam has to put up big numbers, so I expect that to happen.
Hopefully not at the expense of him making dumb decisions. Last week I thought he did a great job taking what was there. He was fine throwing it away (a few times held it too long for a sack) but not trying to force anything...need the same from him this week. Duke creates a lot of turnovers. I feel like that's the only thing that could make this game interesting. While the heisman would be awesome, the win is more important

I'm excited to see how the coaches respond to last weeks game., We can't go one dimensional because a team's defense is dictating it. I think we can run all over them but I want to see more quick hits by Cam because big boy football is going to have stout defensive lines that can stop the run and bring pressure. I want Cam to prepare for a Georgia.

Take the over on whatever Cam's rush yards are this week.

I hope so.

I watched Duke against FSU. Some of the lanes and gaps in the D caused by their DL blowing containment were huge. Cam will have easy running yards if he wants it. However, and I think this happened against FSU, he's sometimes a reluctant runner even when he has an easy 4-8 yards to grab. I'd like to see him take that as opposed to dancing in the backfield trying to make more difficult passes.

I think while the defenses are comparable in poor run defense; Duke doesn't have the secondary FSU does & I think Duke will actually be trying to win the game. Which hopefully leads to some big plays for us hitting the right play call against all their pressure/blitzing etc.

Very interested to see if Ward presses to hard to get numbers. He’s definitely saying all the right things.

Also curious to see what kind of effort our boys come up with. Clearly the FSU game was not that stressful, but still a big win and a monkey off their back and game that had huge significance. Hoping it’s not a letdown spot.

we haven't had 3 straight 200 yard rushing games against power 4/5 opponents since 2013 if i remember the stat correctly. Saturday we can make it three in a row this year

However, there was little doubt at the end that Diaz had lived up to the lofty promises to return UM to its glory years.
/////////////////////////

How is that again? His teams had no pulse against any ranked teams. What a complete fraud of an article.

Manny says “he’s a different coach now”. Well I want to see… everything tells me we can absolutely abuse them with the inside run game and I’m looking forward to seeing that.

I expect Cam’s first half numbers to be on the lower side because we’ll be run heavy
He's Dline still plays without gap integrity. He FOS

Their DBs and DL are typical Manny. Run the ball non stop at will. Follow up with play action and mis-direction play action (QB waggle) to the TE and underneath routes that we saw guys running free all the time during Mannys tenure. Then when he over adjusts in the second half the long ball will be available.

Watch many try to stack the box to stop the run and our wrs and te feast. Many than will go onto panic mode and try to stop the pass

Manny Blitzing right?!

Manny will do what Manny does. Lots of blitzes, lots of twists up from, slow, delayed blitzes from the safety spot or a lb not showing blitz. I think he brings the safeties up and rolls the dice with Cam. I think he has a big day.
