hating watching til 230a is crazyI’d like to see the peaks
I’m guessing a lot of people tuned it at 35-10 to watch us get slapped around
Which makes me even happier
this ought to be a part of our recruiting pitch ... the U brings viewersIn the 4 weeks we had Nielsen ratings (not counting FAMU and Balls State), we had the 4th (Florida), 15th (USF), 6th (VaTech), and 8th (Cal late night) highest-rated games.
That Clemson vs fsu game must have been on oxygen or some other network that was hard to find.
I completely agree with you . . . As to the Canes and Heat. But for some reason even with all their success, the Dolphins never became a national brand IMO. The Marlins of course won’t be a national brand as they either win a World Series or are terrible. But the Dolphins have been good to very good since Marino (of course greeat in the early 70’s), but never have seemed to catch on.I really don’t think most people understand the power of the U brand.
Most people understand the popularity of the city of Miami but don’t really understand what that means to the sports teams that are attached to it.
Maybe the marketing gurus can research where Miami Heat gear was sold when Lebron was here.
People love associating themselves with winners and they really love associating themselves with winners in busy popular cities. LA, Chicago, NYC, San Francisco.
Look at USC when they were winning.
The fashionable cities the trendy popular ones
I served from 90-94 and whenever we played a big game everyone was watching and everyone was Miami fan that day.
The entire barracks was tuned in and it didn’t matter where you from. This happened on every duty station and when we got the vhs of the 91 season games the entire ship was watching and cheering us on.
Alabama has been reigning supreme for about a decade and I doubt they sell a lot of merch outside the south.
I saw a **** Miami heat t shirt in Somalia!!!
We win a natty and there will be a damm Sherpa in Tibet wearing a Canes Parka.
Wins draw viewers and stadium seats. Most fans are that - fanatics. The sneaky staggering number is a prime time Clemson FSU game being where it is. The FSU thing isn’t even an interesting oddity anymore it’s just an utterly uninteresting irrelevant giant. Wild wild wild turn of events. Can’t ever think of a season going so **** up for a powerful program with expectations that year.
This is what the knuckleheads from other schools don't get, or pretend not to when the discussion of conferences comes up. Eyeballs bring advertisers and advertisers bring money...I really don’t think most people understand the power of the U brand.

The Fab 5 of Michigan was rocking Canes gear in that same 90-94 period you mentioned.I really don’t think most people understand the power of the U brand.
