Miami vs Arkansas-Elimination game

Jim Morris, at this juncture of his career, is the one of the worst managers I've ever seen. Bar none.

His commitment to sacrificing 9 outs per game with idiotic bunting, especially with this current lineup, is appalling.

We have less than one bunt per game. If you're going to rant, rant about something that actually happens.

Where is the smartest guy in the room to explain to us how Arkansas arguing the bad hit by pitch call had zero impact on last night's game?

Was he arguing to set up a call for next year?

Sounds like a selective fan to me.

Bart Allen called me a coward? OMG, I'm so upset. Bart made a fool of himself on Facebook saying that UVA was going to crumble and lose 5-1 when it was 1-0. He loves to ruin threads. Very tiring act.

should switch lopez and hayward in the lineup asap

And Abreu and Kennedy. Bat Abreu 6th and Heyward 7th.
No. Spreading out the power in the lineup has helped us turn the lineup over. Instead of a straight 1 thru 9 they have to face, it's a good secondary "top" of the lineup.

Think of Eusebio thru Kennedy as 1 thru 6, and then Lopez thru Heyward as a 1 thru 3.

Our 7-8-9 is really good compared to just about every other team in the nation.

I can agree to disagree...but I like the way the lineup is set up. I think that's one thing that Morris has gotten right this season. He's found a lineup that's worked pretty well and has stuck with it down the stretch.

It's not a wash. It's not about scoring one run. You give up an out, you give up chances for a lot of runs. We were up a run with ISK up and what do we do, sacrifice. Stupid.
I guess because you say so just like you said we were going to lose game. I bow down to your wisdom

We won a big game. History shows we were going to lose. My mistake lol now beat florida

do you ever wonder why the pros dont sacrifice? its not baseball smart when early in the game.

the problem is lopez leaves a ton of guys on base, Lopez's avg with risp especially in tournament games must be atrocious

100% incorrect. Pros don't sacrifice because they get paid to put up numbers. Heard it straight from a GM's mouth. Managers would use it more to try to win games, but then the players would **** and moan and want to go somewhere else. In the big leagues it's swing for everything, all the time. Major leaguers don't even shorten up on two strikes to make contact. Full swing, every pitch.

The way a lineup like that is set up, Lopez shouldn't be driving in runs. If we're relying on our #7 hitter to be our RBI guy...then we're in trouble anyway. If Collins/Thompson/Kennedy do their jobs, the bases are empty or just have 1 on (in theory). Lopez is there to set the table for Abreu/Heyward, and help get the lineup turned over.

We can agree/disagree on whether that's the right move or not, but really--that's just the theory behind setting up the lineup that way. I agree w/that theory.

Your chances of scoring are greater when you dont sacrifice. That's the point. Not 100 percent incorrect.

^THIS. Although i never understand why hitters wont shorten swing with 2 strikes against a power pitcher, its just plain dumb and selfish.

Don't fall for those stats. I tore them apart when Boyd Nation used them and I'll tear them apart here if I have to.

There are times when a sac bunt absolutely gives you a better chance of scoring than letting someone swing away. The key to good managing is identifying those times in a game.

good point but throughout the playoffs it always seems collins is leading off innings and Lopez comes to bat with people on base.. Eusebio and Iskendarian have also been struggling lately
