Miami coaching staff has been going to work in the transfer portal. The newest name on the board is Xavier guard Trey Green.

Green, a 6-foot-0, 168-pound guard, averaged 5.0 points and 0.9 rebounds. He played in 9 games for Xavier as a sophomore in 2024-25. Green then step away from Xavier due to health issues.

Schools like SMU, TCU, Creighton, and others have already made contact with Trey Green.

The former four-star guard out of Napa, CA shot 40% from the field and 37.5% from 3-point...

Welcome to “We are filling the roster with whatever is available” This is the downside of hiring a guy that has no experience in building a roster, nor does he have the connections an experienced HC has. I wouldn’t be shocked if Miami spends a ton of money on what is a middling roster.

Interesting analysis from an Xavier’s sportswriter. Sean Miller saw something similar or else he wouldn’t have recruited him.

I mean… there’s the overwhelmingly obvious proposition that if Sean Miller isn’t taking him, he might not be worth taking.

Sometimes one man’s trash is another man’s treasure. But… most often… not.

I don't know about this guy! He is only 6ft! HC Jai was 6ft! You have to be special or he is the back PG! You want length at PG if possible and at least 6'2 and can shot! You also was SG, SF and PF with length! You need in total about 4 to 6 SF and PF who are 6'7 to 610! SG need to be no shorter than 6'3! If he is 6'3, he needs to be a good 3pt shooter or a **** driver! You don't want a small team who is dependent or mostly on making 3's!

Both. He's small, an average athlete, and just an ok shooter. Not a natural distributor either. If you're that small, you have to be elite at something to compensate. See someone like McClinton or Pack who were elite shooters.

I read a few Evals that characterize him as a pure 3 point shooter (despite the 38% number).

It’s also a sample size of 24 shots. 32% the prior year on 118 attempts. He may be a good shooter, may not, haven’t made it far enough into any games to see, but I wouldn’t use this past year’s raw stats to mean much of anything.

Free throw numbers would indicate he’s better than a 32% shooter though, but his size is going to make good looks harder to come by.
