Miami or Texas

With the money Texas has there's no doubt they've fallen farther. Contrary to what some think Strong has only shown he can win with a great QB. He's a great defensive guy, but he was 7-6,7-6 prior to TB.

Wasn't Louisville 4-8 the year before he got there? He took over a really bad team.

Exactly... He was a first time HC who progressed each year and found the right players to build a good team... Teddy was the missing piece but the production he got from some of his prospects is nothing short of being a good HC...

So you're saying he trended up?

I don't know, but to claim he'll win a title after failing to do so with a great QB and a pudding soft schedule is a reach IMO.

Well the reason why people believe he'll win a title is because he built a program where you actually expected him to win a title at UL... I mean how did he get a 5 star qb to go to UL? Yea he had an easy schedule but he took care of business... He loss 1 game to a great UCF squad... Lets not pretend it was a 7-8 win team... They won a BCS game and was a mistake away from pulling an upset on a great USCe team... He handled business... You can't credit Teddy for having a dynamic defense...

Now that being said, I don't see Texas winning a title but I can see them as a consistent 10-11 win team with Strong...

Texas will be in the four team playoff in 2 years. Strong had 3 players drafted in the first round at UL. He has a solid eye for talent and develops his players. He will have Texas competing in a couple years.

Here's what worries me that UT fans don't have to worry about: Texas could go 0-12 for the next 10 years, and then 11 years from now they will still be throwing everything they have in a desperate, passionate attempt at getting back. I'm worried that some shot-callers here would be happy with a perpetual loop of 9-4, 8-5.

Texas will be back in 2 years. Their administration did what needed to be done after years of mediocrity.

Miami fell a lot further. Think about how many national championships we played for from 1983-2003 and then look at the last ten years. Have not even sniffed that ****. Texas at least won one and played for another in the last decade.

Miami has fallen further and Texas will get back to national prominence first. Texas may not want a black coach as their HC, but Charlie Strong I a good coach.

Texas is killing it in recruiting under Strong so far, its surprising that AG has not made a statement in recruiting yet which is a huge concern.

man the word great must not mean what it use to.

Easy answer. We've fallen further and Texas will be back first. Not saying we will never be back but they simply have too much invested to put up with mediocrity there.

Us or Nebraska is more of a toss up of a question.

You Strong slurpers have to realize Texas like Miami had the recruiting advantage in texas like Miami did for nearly 20 years.

what has happened in texas the past 5 years

Baylor BCS game ( equivalent to UCF) Top rated QB..rg3 , broyles new stadium

Houston new young coach poaching kids from right here...

AM sumlin SEC now, with that cash...heisman winners, BCS games top classes in recruiting

then lonely Texas...watching all this go down with front office issues

can Strong right the ship...sure...but this is not the AAC...they face good teams each week...maybe two years he can look at winning the big12 but not no natty....

like Miami they lost what they controlled the kids....he will struggle more than you think getting players...look for him to work south FL and the tampa area he knows all to well...he will hurt SEC schools more than us..
