Miami opens 11.5 point favorite at Cal

what are you talking about?

college gameday is going to be covering our game next week, which means we'll get a lot more air coverage than typical

we are also playing a lesser opponent

it's a good opportunity for us to look dominant in front of a lot of eyes next saturday

the best thing we can have is having Corso (fsu guy) having to wear an Ibis head. Otherwise, I expect them to show cam and the canes love BUT with the big *** put on the VT win by them.

It was their second traveling east in 3 weeks. It was an early kick. Basically the opposite of the time zone situation for Miami on this one.

Not shocked they lost to fsu. They are a solid team but Miami should win this by 14+ unless Miami has a lot of guys out injured.

The injuries is the unknown right now.

If Bain, Rivers, Alston, Harris are all still out plus Baron being banged up, Francis hobbled, George hobbled.

Miami might be in a battle then.
Guess we’ll see.

FSU is cheeks. Auburn is cheeks and cal was the benefit of 5 turnovers I think. They were tied with FCS team UC Davis with late in the 2nd quarter. SDSU is 1-3 with their win coming against Texas A&M Commerce.

All fair points. But, I watch a lot of CFB, and Cal looked like a legit high school team at points vs FSU. I was in shock they beat Auburn.

But like every game we play this year, we have a target in our backs. Teams are going to get up and have a extra motivation to try and mock and beat us. Cam Ward bounce back game though. Which is hard to fathom what that might look like.

Miami better dominate if I’m going to be up till 2am watching football next Saturday night

I think we’ll be fine. Time zone difference and late start time will have an impact but probably not by much on a bunch of 18-25 year olds with just the 33 year old outlier (cam). BUT it’s also easy to mitigate even that if the coaching staff insists on shifting everyone to west coast time sleeping patterns starting now so they’re completely adjusted for the game.
Hopefully the staff has been planning for this trip. Studies show east coast teams are at a major disadvantage when traveling west when it comes to biorhythms.
After 2 weeks of physical games, guys are banged up and injured. Mario has his work cut out in keeping the team focused and prepared this week.

Mendoza doesn’t present a run threat and he’s a big target back there that goes down relatively easy. Not a Big Ben type that is hard to get down but isn’t mobile.

I think we tee off. I don’t see them giving us much trouble unless Ott goes from completely irrelevant to his all American form overnight. That’s my only hesitation.

On offense, Ward has seen this defense twice and had a big day in both. Threw a few picks against them but I haven’t looked at them at all to see what it was. Mario/Mirabal also saw Wilcox’s defense 4 times.. torched them twice (first 2 years), struggled and lost in 2020 with Shough at QB, and then had a decent statistical day passing and running in 2021 but really didn’t reflect the scoreboard for whatever reason.

Depending on our health, despite the cross country travel, kick off time, etc stacking against us I think we should roll them.

They really haven’t played anyone but their defense looks formidable early on.

If Alston being out, it'll mean more Malik Bryant. Which he's earned.

If Harris is out, it'll mean more Markeith and Zaquan. And I feel like they've both earned more PT. If staff feels the same, maybe this is when they move Meesh to more nickel.

George hobbled means more Horton. Which for the love of god, please. I think Jacolby is very good but I think Horton is our best NFL WR prospect on this roster rn, and I seriously think he can take over games.

Obviously rotational depth will be a factor. But if those guys are just limited, I still like the youngsters to step up

It’s the impact of the time zone on the staff (ok maybe #84 too), not the players that we should be concerned about. They’re undoubtedly going to have to fit in a Power Nap during the course of the game.

I’m of the belief, this game, is the reason we hired a time management coach!

****, I’m already trying to formulate a game plan for how my crusty old *** will be able to stay awake to watch this ***** 😀

I can’t agree with wanting one of guys being injured. We still don’t have the QUALITY DEPTH.
