Miami Offers GA WR 2013 Tyree Harris

here we go again w/ the more ships to give out talk. things may look good for w/ the ncaa investigation, but, UM isn't going to go an eff it up either. and we don't really have more ships. you kind of have to have the ships available on signing day and not rely on a couple kids leaving over the summer.

That's pretty naive. The staff knows whether there are some kids who won't be back.

They would have known that before the NCAA sh#t itself too.

Sure. But they may have changed their view on how close we are willing to get to 85. It's easier to manage potential sanctions if you know you have some *potential* attrition in your pocket. Harder to manage it if you sign to a point where that's less feasible.

I just don't buy the sudden idea that we're going to oversign because the NCAA sh#t itself publicly. We'll see how it goes, but it's nonsense to me. I'm fairly certain that if that long list of guys we've been pursuing that we still have a chance at want in, then we will take them. That was ALWAYS the case. If we were sitting at 84, and Matt Thomas decided he wanted in as the last guy on that known list, then he was going to get in before any of that NCAA news came out. If we sign all the high-profile guys we're still after, then that will put us right at 85.

I highly doubt that we're going to sign a bunch of backup guys PLUS the high-profile guys. Looks to me like GolDon is simply keeping his backup plans in place, and maybe he's gotten some news that 1 or more of the high-profile guys will go elsewhere. Maybe they gave up on *****. Who knows? I'm not big on dealing in guesswork. I'll just go off what UM always does, and what we've done in Al's 2 classes so far--sign right up to or near the 85 and go from there. There's also a chance that a low-profile player or two has already decided to leave the program, and we just don't know about it because it wasn't brought to the media's attention.

I have to say that I appreciate this kid's ability to be excited about getting a UM offer yet remaining commited to Wake.

Shows character.
