I don't really follow other teams' recruiting but is it as normal for really highly ranked kids to have to reach out to other programs as it is with Miami?

I can't really speak for other programs. But Miami's strategy is so predicated on focusing on the tri-county area, you can literally field a good power 5 team just on the amount of quality 3-stars from here, so they aren't going to go looking past Georgia too often. Obviously if it was just based on ability, every 5-star type would have offers from Miami. It’s a kind of thing with an out of state 5-star kid where they won’t waste the time if they don’t think they have a shot. But if the kid is going out of his way to show interest and wants to visit, you have to at least take a shot and see what happens.

Hard to say right now. His relationship with Miami is so new, literally just started last week. VT has been on him for a year and a half, he's an in-state kid for them, and he has already visited Blacksburg multiple times. This recruitment will 100% be about how good his connection is with the staff and how comfortable he is in the Miami environment. UM will need to hit home runs on both aspects. We'll know more after his visit.

We have plenty to worry about for ‘19. And before I get hammered, I’m not saying u don’t recruit ahead, just wondering how we can be making ‘20 & ‘21 priorities when we still don’t have our most glaring need taken care of for 2019.....

I feel like Miami is one of those universities that kids have in their minds and want an offer from. We should be offering and contacting out of state 5* all the time. If the hit us back and show interest go for it. Is mind blowing every time I hear that a 5* has to call us for an offer. Dont get it really
