So we are 7 and bama is 4. We boat raced usf in their building and bama struggled w them at home until half way through the 4th. We also boat raced Florida, SEC in their building week one.

This is why the polls are stupid to even have until mid October. It’s all what the media wants you to believe.

But that’s fine. I’m not saying we are better than Bama but if you are judging on the field results through 4 games…….
I thought I remembered hearing that the official poll doesn’t even come out until November this year too. Anyone else hear this?

Well you could include me in your post. I was extremely concerned with our play in the 1st half. I told my wife I hoped we would come out the 2nd like Bama did and the Canes did not disappoint.
Oh I know.. you’re wife told me all about it.

They won 11 games in the SEC last season and haven't been in a close game yet to drop them. We still haven't proved ourselves in ACC yet. Completely fine with it
Come on man. Are you seriously talking about last year?

Ole Miss played Furman (1-3), Middle Tennessee State (1-3), Wake Forest (1-2), and GA Southern (2-2).

I don't care if they are good or not. No team should be rewarded to the near top of the rankings for that schedule.

That's how it works. You're not going to drop a team down who is loaded with a track record just because they haven't played anybody. It's a projection.

They ranked us #7 after falling apart every year for decades and beating Florida and USF. I'll take #7 without complaining about being ahead of proven coaches/programs.

what do you all think of the matchups? I would prefer winner of Ole Miss-Oregon or PSU-Vols, but knocking off Bama would be a changing of the guard in the top of cfb which has been UGA, Ohio State , Bama, and recently Texas. UM could take Bamas slot. Cristobal has done a remarkable job with the roster but the fans should get some credit as well as none of this is possible without the NIL we’ve contributed.
Beating Bama would be epic though.
Then potentially playing O$U at Hard Rock in a Semi would be out of this world type of hype for a game.

But I am not going to dwell upon this for too long. I just want to think about Friday.

Clemson should be ranked higher
I know I mentioned Josh Pate above, but he did a great spiel on the AP last night. He tore the AP apart a bit in his professional way that he does this stuff. Said there aren’t 16 teams better than Clemson, Rutgers should be ranked, OK State shouldn’t be, and more I’m forgetting right now. It’s a good watch. He said it’s the first time he’s looked at the AP all
season and he compared it to what he had his rankings at, so obviously there were differences. I know I’ve seen other people on twitter complaining about Indiana not being ranked.

Anyway, def worth a watch if you’re interested in this stuff.

The 2000 computers didn’t see the logic that we beat fsu gead to head and we had the same records.there is no way 14 teams are better than us

I agree that we haven't played anyone, but
what data is input week 0 for a computer poll to establish a ranking at the beginning of the season?
I don’t know, but now that we have four games the data is everyone’s four games.

They would still have behind the scenes polls to have a basis to work with. Which I imagine would still include **** SEC teams as they are perceived as the best conference

Project that loaded Lane train out of the top ten until they beat someone.
