Miami moves up to No. 6 in the nation in the new AP Poll

Posted in a different thread the other day that this year's team is for real. Not perfect by any means as we've painfully seen but a team that can have a special season. Nothing like the smoke mirrors squad from '13 that peaked about this time.

For years I asked that watching us play be fun. This team delivers that in bunches. Something I'm grateful for.

I think part of our problem was starting the game so blah on O. OK, so we could run a bit, but we are at our best when Cam is carving a D up. Like one dude said, if I'm Cal's DC, I am really thankful when Miami runs the ball, because they don't have to worry about what Cam might do to them.

We need to start games the way we ended this game. Cal KNEW we were going to be passing, and it didn't matter. Why would it have been any different early on? It wouldn't.
Because ,we have to appease Martinez, who really isn't that good. No vision to bounce it outside & opposing dee know it

I will say Fletcher was running hard out there. Cam kept trying to play hero ball and ultimately that's gonna eventually falter. Take what the defense gives you and when you're really under pressure that's his time to break out and do those heroics.

It seems like all of our backs have missed a LOT of opportunities by not bounding it outside. They always seem to zig when they should zag. That alone has hurt our average per carry. So many yards lost because they don't see/feel the open grass that is a yard away. Now I am not expecting them to see what I can see with a bird's eye view, but I do hope the coaches are seeing it on tape and pointing it out. We are missing a lot of chunk yardage.

If we lost last night we would have easily dropped 10 spots.

Bama loses to an unranked Vandy and drop 5 spots? They should have easily dropped to 9-10
When you have done what they have done the past 15 years you get the benefit of the doubt from pundits, when you do what we have the past 15 years its the opposite. When we got embarrased in Blackburg in 03 we went from 2 to 6 in the AP and that was because we were a different program back then.

Bama has a strong history of success and just beat UGA. Miami is struggling with mid teams and has been irrelevant for decades.

Vandy was a real bad loss but If you think Bama should be ranked 9 or 10 then idk to tell you.

Wait!!! Where are the Gators and Noles?
Were you on the FSU forum last year?

I read the same post except instead of Noles it said Canes.

We could easily be 3-2 with no quality wins. People in here complain about rankings and Where we are compared to Georgia or Oregon.

I guess I am mr negative. I prefer the cautious optimism. UnDefeated and a one point favorite at Louisville? Somebody knows something.

They beat Georgia. That’s what the pollsters care about.

I get where you’re coming from but past teams shouldn’t matter getting the benefit of the doubt in regards to current rankings.

If Bama loses again in the coming weeks there’s a real chance you have a 2 loss team in the top 15 and that’s crazy to me.

Georgia isn’t what they were in years past. They’re still good and a top team, but Bama blowing that lead should have affected their drop somewhat.

I get it though, I just don’t agree with it

UGA loses to Bama and only drops a few spots because of how great Bama is.
