Miami Moves up in Latest Coaches Poll

Pedo State at 8 is more of a joke.
I think Penn State lights Utah up, esp without Rising. USC should be Top 10. I believe Texas beats UGA today and Ole Miss beats Bama so those 2 should be higher. Oregon has not played like a Top 10 team, and Michigan is not a Top 20 team until they get their QB situation figured out. And BC and South Carolina should be Top 25, esp if BC barely lost to #8 Mizzou and South Carolina was working LSU until their QB got injured. UM right around where we should be

I'm surprised OSU didn't jump UGA after beating the #3 team PSU and UGA struggling with a 3rd string QB on an unranked team UF.

IMHO, the Canes should have jumped UGA, but I will definitely be satisfied with moving up to #4 for now. I think the pollsters are committed to trying to keep one-loss teams from the SEC and B10 ahead of us because they fear that they all will have losses before the CFP, and the Canes have a better chance than all of them to be undefeated after the conference championship games.

The question is if we go undefeated and let's say beat an undefeated SMU team will we jump up to #2 (or even #1) if the lower ranked SEC and B1G team win their conference championships?

Say Texas is #5 and plays against #2 UGA. We're #4..we beat SMU and Texas beats UGA (and OSU or Oregon loses B1G championship). Does Texas jump from #5 to #2 over us and we go from 4 to 3? Or do we go to #2 and Texas goes to #3?

It does seem like the #1 and #2 spots are reserved for B1G and SEC as long as they don't have more than one loss.

I believe it's as much about propping up the other SEC and BiG teams who have played Taint and UGA as it is about them specifically. They are desperate to claim those conferences have a better strength of schedule so deserve 4 teams each OR MORE, when the ACC and Big 12 only get 1 or 2 . Maybe in past years that might have been the case. But those mid-pack SEC/BiG teams have been exposed as good but not great, just lke any mid-pack ACC team. Blatant favoritism.
