The official answer is "enrollment", but according to @Tony4Canes , if a transfer signs the financial aid agreement, it now has a clause that says the player has exited the Portal, which would mean he could not re-enter until the next cycle. However, that clause is new and has not yet been litigated, and last time I checked, the NCAA is on a massssssive losing streak in court.
After I said that I think I just read another post you made where there would be a stipulation in an NIL deal which would make sense. I’m one of the only non lawyers in this place but if they wanna put that in a contract they’re able to I would guess?

Yes, an NIL deal usually involves a (relatively) rapid first payment, so once money has changed hands, the courts tend to be more enforcement-oriented.

I'm not sure if a financial aid agreement (which has been around for a while) with a brand-new "Portal clause" would get equal enforcement.

@Tony4Canes posted an article where there is already a player who is deciding whether to challenge the clause.

Let’s go!

for my brother @TheOriginalCane I know you enjoy these

I love it.

Although, I'm not sure why the Gator fans are so surprised and/or upset. Their DC took a lateral move to a lesser school, and nearly all of their starting defense is either graduating or transferring.

I said it before (and, yes, it applies to Miami too), it is CRAZY to put all your eggs into the "we just need 10 or 12 starters from The Portal" basket.

Thanks

We saw a ton of people (Baron was one I’m pretty sure?) that jumped a few times in the portal last year and I wondered how they could let that happen

But then it seems like Tony had pointed out that this was something new probably to stem what happened last year?

Wild times

Yeah. @Tony4Canes is a good guy, he really brought it with the article, but like I said, the NCAA...LOSES...a lot of cases lately...
