Miami lands Jacksonville St. safety Zechariah Poyser

i like nickel as a recruit but i dont think hes close to ready to handle a much tougher schedule next year. anyways, i dont think were rolling with emory regardless. i would like to see emory in the bowl game exclusively but some people on here are trying to make these non playoff bowls something that theyre not anymore.
After ND & UF what defense on our schedule represents a huge challenge ? Nickel shows good ability to process info at his current level, having all spring + summer should only help him. But ultimately I prefer an experienced arm on field next year.

i expect and demand more for the money were paying this man. i dont believe in the nonsense hes fed esp about cutlure bc the culture still sucks.

First, what we are paying this man is par for the course, given his experience. Sure, we could pay a first-timer less. How did that work out with Randy and Al and Manny?

Second, tell us how the "culture still sucks". Because he doesn't bench guys for multiple games for making a mistake the way that Randy Shannon did?

I guaran-*******-tee you that the culture today is soooo much better than when he arrived.

Amazing we overcame Mario not being a closer, us having no money, Guidry scaring everyone away, no announced QB transfer and all the other things the mopes have been spewing for weeks to land this kid.

With that being said, I wanted this kid more than any of the other DB transfers we are after. I personally felt the safety play was a much bigger issue than the CB play (which wasn't great either).

just goes to show 95% of the idiots on this board and the WEZ have no idea what they are talking about. they just love to whine and ***** about the team!

we won 9 games in year 2 when we landed a transfer King (sound familiar). would have been 10 but covid cancelled a game against wake

mario has won 5 7 and now 10 (but anyone with eyes could see this 10 was mainly dependent on a guy who isnt returning).

mario took a 7 win team and made it 5 and got this narrative that you suckers bought that we need to be really bad to be really good which just isnt true

if we dont land mateer, what happens next year if we struggle w emory?
How was the second year going with that transfer QB? You know where we got blown out by MSU and Lashlee with TVD somehow saved his *** for a little bit. It's just dumb logic when one guy goes up and down and another goes up consistently. I don't know what we do if we don't get Mateer, but either way I don't think less than 9 wins is acceptable. 9-10 every year and some CFP appearances is a good trajectory compared to where we were since I was a kid. If we get that over the next 5 years I'll enjoy more than I have in the past. I'll enjoy highlights from this season in the off season more than I have since my 3 kids have been born. I get your disappointment but your saying nonsense just to bring down the current coach of your favorite team in every thread.

then why am i hearing in every pod out there saying that the defensive room culture sucks and benching a guy for the same mistake would have been helpful considering it cost us a spot in the acc title game.

we are still one of the most undisciplined teams in the country so yes the culture blows.

look i am not gonna fall for the bull**** spewed bc this has been a bad coaching job overall.

Al wasnt a first timer btw.

we won 9 games in the second year. youre talking about the third year

Mario does get credit for landing cam. he also recruited the defense. he gets all the praise and the entire blame.

in the end, hes got the same record that got Manny Diaz fired. so hes been a failure so far. I know it's hard for Mario lovers to understand that.
My point is that the narrative that he's an overrated recruiter that's been taking off here is a lil ridiculous considering he recruited the best QB to ever play here just last cycle, his coaching/coordinator hires etc. is another story but thats not what im talking about im strictly talking recruiting/bringing in talent.

King was here for 3 years? I don't think so.
king came in year 2 and got hurt in the next year. king won us 9 games in year 2 (lost to UNC with a shot at the OB on the line). king got hurt in year 3. the **** are you saying.

manny got fired basically after MSU in his third season. he ended up finishing 21-15 over 3 years. mario is at 22-15 over 3 years.

i dont think hes an overrated recruiter. i think he has not been a great developer of talent or at least identification of talent. the evidence by that is the bust rate of the 23 class (the limited 22 class) and well see how 24 develops. mario can get kids in but development has been an issue here outside of OL. there is tangible evidence of that here and at oregon at certain positions. mario does deserve credit for landing ward.

Cam is the best QB to ever play here? How long you been a fan?

And Mario didn't exactly "land" Cam. We got a bit lucky that his NFL stock wasn't as high as he had hoped.

worst post EVER

first Mario had to convince Cam not to go to the NFL

then he had to outrecruit him to Miami when EVERY OTHER TEAM WANTED HIM.

A guy from Texas and then Washington State to come 2500 miles to Miami.

your post is ludicrous on it's face!

If the lines you’re reading are saying we need safeties because we’ve signed 1 good one from HS in 4 years, then yes. Reading it correctly
Ha! Well, that was a given. I was thinking the talent was going to be the scapegoat to keep Lance around.

He didn’t convince cam not to go to the nfl. Cam talked with his pops and decided not to go then called Mario and said he wanted in. Mario himself said he had moved on and you see they then went and got poff
