Probably would kill some anti Miami/Mario posters here to know OSU wanted Cam but he didn’t give them the time of day because of Mario
**** he'd be playing for a national championship. But being a Cane for life trumps any ohio state national title win

People say Mario just got lucky because Cam changed his mind about the NFL with no regard to the choice he was weighing it against, which is basically Mario’s recruiting pitch.

As if Cam just decided against the NFL on a coin flip then pulled Miami out of a hat.

With Lucas about to join them our backfield is going to be both talented and young. Finally have a setup where we can build depth.
I know there’s that thing fans do where we just put our hopes on the next group like kicking the can down the street

But since the day Mario got here people close to the team have been worried about DB recruiting and evals

It’s not just hopium here this group is looking significantly better on paper

Cam made a great decision to come here, he would’ve been at best a 4th round pick, now he may go number 1 overall

The way the 2025 class fizzled out was incredibly frustrating. The two best DBs I'd seen in a minute coming out of HS were Stubbs at safety and Hanks at corner. Stubbs pulled a Jobe and we never had a chance with Hanks once Lagway stuck and the perception of UF/Napier started to improve.

But next year's top guys will have 3 second-years and a third-year, all of whom are proven high-level starters except Quan:
OJF 2nd year
ZP 2nd year
Lucas 2nd year
Poyser 3rd year (RS Sophomore)
Brantley 5th year

Adding in the 2025 class and other young guys Mack, Day and Thomas, this DB room "should" be stacked for the next few years. Gotta prove it on the field. But looks good on paper.

Yeah when the recruiting class was foundering a bit I was willing to wait it out and see if we moved those resources to the portal

Honestly it’s hard to complain. Sure id love to see a guy like Hanks in orange and green but as far as the roster for 2025….its looking pretty **** good especially when Lucas becomes official

Don’t forget O’Connor has multiple years left. RS FR this past season.

Great job setting up the room for several seasons (on paper of course).
