Miami is the buzz of south Florida

Oh no question, we will ALWAYS lose recruits to bags each year. Sucks, but we just can't play that game on the level of some of those schools. But I think you'll definitely see a significant % increase in elite players staying home if we can win consistently over a 3-4 year period. You might even see some kids that would have otherwise taken those bags start to think twice...

It is not just wins and loses. Need to start pumping out first rounders again. Kids needs to see the U as the NFL factory it is.

Of the elite recruits, there are 3 types -- bag chasers, frontrunners and Canes diehards.

The diehards are a no-brainer. The bag chasers - we will lose that battle most times. The frontrunners - we will land more of these types as we continue to win more big games and get more of our guys into the early NFL draft rounds.

We can field championship teams with the diehards and select bandwagon kids. Just gotta keep winning. 11 wins or bust in 2018.

It's very simple! We have to now win big games against big time teams and do it in an "exciting and impressing manner". Our stars have to shine. RB's have to make big runs, receivers big play catches and the defense has to stifle all offenses.

It's also hard to outrecruit Baga, Georgia, and some other teams when they're handing out giant bags. Top 7 class, though, means we outrecruited about 123 other teams.

We should always have a giant advantage down here, and that's why we should be a dominant program. This is the densest area of talent in the country, and we're smack dab in the middle of it with no one else within 300 miles.

We just need to keep winning, putting out a great product and make sure our players are developing to dominate the NFL like before. Keep the best guys home, and the best guys may not always be the 5 star guy. It may be the 3 or 4 star guy who hates any and everyone or thing that's not on his squad. It may be the guy who thirst to be great vs. the guy who's been told you're great. We need our squad to be full of flamboyant, in your face leaders that always play bigger when the stage is bigger. We're starting to get those dogs.

Just keep the Florida dogs home w/ us and let the front runners bounce. They'll get trounced on sooner than later.

we need to beat LSU big thats going to get the ball rolling. LSU has a great following and we need to prove that we are back beating SEC teams.

Preach. We beat LSU on a neutral field and that will send a strong message. Plus, we owe them from that Peach Bowl beating they gave us which spiraled us down hill as a program. Sweet revenge is on my mind.

I understand this and agree to an extent but that's not always how CFB works. If it did, every team would just "improve" every year. I think with our schedule and (hopefully) a new QB, 10-11 wins is where we should be in 2018. I think re-winning the Coastal, not limping to the finish, and winning our bowl game would be improvement.

I refuse to believe this buzz that Rosier is still our guy. If he ends up being the best QB on the roster, we're not only in trouble next year but years to come.

That's all we can hope for. Keep fans showing up for games and making the Hard ROCK. The bags can only get so big before someone blows the whistle on these guys.

Yep, add to that our penetration into areas of the state where we've never had a presence (central fla, jax, etc.). Gotta strike when the iron's hot, especially since UF and FSU are struggling.

That's what she said

A lot of top recruits are still quite sceptical about our program based upon what they saw during the Shannon/Golden years (pretty sure I just vomited)

Therefore, I agree that the buzz that is happening now, is directly correlated with our recent success. However, I think it is going to have a bigger impact on the class of 2023, 2024, 2025, etc....hence why Richt spends a lot of time with youth football leagues. He gets it!

Our logo (tradition) alone, will draw in solid talent year in and year out. What Richt is doing now, on and off the field, is setting us up for 20-30 years down the road, similar with how as a program, we are still benefiting from the success of our program that took place in the 80's and early 90's.

Howard handed the keys to Jimmy. Jimmy handed them to Dennis. Dennis passed them Butch. It literally became a plug and play situation because the "brand" wasn't just a logo, it was the culture. Back then, mainstream artist rocked UM gear in their videos, celebrities attended games, and top national recruits called us asking to be a part of this U. Just this year alone, we've seen that vibe return (Rick Ross, A-Rod/J-Lo, Drake...you get the point)

For the first time since Butch, we are getting back to those days. So, yes the "buzz" is fresh, but this time around, it will be sustaining.

Hopefully we get one of these pieces every other week. This is the type of stuff I want the local rag to write... Propaganda at its finest. If they need any other quotes I can get them easily

If we were allowed to drop SEC type bags, we've have the #1 class every year. ****, if NO ONE was allowed to drop bags, we'd have a top 3 class every year. The NCAA knows what's going on, and they allow it. It was the driving force behind their witch hunt of us. Hurt UM and help others cherry pick talent. That's all it was about. That's the #1 reason they took so long. The longer it took, the worse it looked, and the easier it was for other schools to use it against us. Did they ever. God, I hate the corruption of the NCAA.

this. 100% agree.
