Confirmed Miami (hires) Minnesota Corey Hetherman as DC

I spoke at the FCC clinic in Orlando last weekend and I'll/we'll be in Orlando again this weekend for the Nike clinic.
I'll be driving across town to the Glazier clinic just to see Hetherman.
Ok Coach I know you'll do an awesome job...thanks for all your good info
Keep catching Hetherman for us...I'm excited about him and his defensive philosophies tbh

Talked to a college coach who worked with Hetherman at Rutgers. He said the guy is brilliant. Said he's gonna have us playing some great defense.

Also eluded to Miami's struggles getting lined up. Said we looked confused at times in our bowl game versus them last year.

Speaking of defense, thinking about if Hetherman does do a good job, and is here another year what they 2026 defense could look like makes me feel nicey. The DL could have 3 FIVE stars starting, and the secondary could be the most naturally gifted secondary Miami has had in few decades. You could see 3-4 top 100 type picks out of the secondary with maybe a first rounder.

DE-Armando Blount/Cole McCanathy/Marquise Lightfoot
DT-Josh Horton/Artavius Jones
DT-Justin Scott/Danta Simpson
DE-Hayden Lowe/Malik Bryant/Booker Pickett
LB-Kellen Wiley/Cam Pruitt
LB-Popo Aguirre/Aldarius Hayes
CB-O.J. Frederique/Ethan O' Connor
CB-Xavier Lucas/Emmauel Karnley
NB-Demari Brown/Amari Wallace
S-Zequan Patterson/Dylan Day
S-Zachariah Poyser/Bryce Fitzgerald

Do we have any type of official confirmation that Hetherman is going to coach the LBs or are we still looking for a LB coach?

Monroe already has the Co-DC title.

Collins has been with fleck dating back to western Michigan. None of their options have ever called plays. They do have a former FCS DC on staff as an analyst that will likely become their Co-DC and LB coach.
The person in the bolded I mentioned here is now on our staff as an analyst.

Corey Hetherman brought over his top analyst from Minnesota to help him run the linebacker room.

InsideTheU learned that Brett Holinka has joined the Hurricanes and was with the program on Monday as Miami went through its first spring practice.

The North Dakota native spent four seasons as the University of North Dakota’s defensive coordinator before resigning in February 2023. He took a defensive back role at St. Thomas as cornerbacks coach in March 2023 before joining Minnesota as an analyst for the 2024 season.
