Miami Hires Hickson as RB Coach, Barry as OL Coach, releases statement

View as article
I mentioned in another thread.
Eric Hickson's older brother Hyland was a teammate of E.nos at Michigan State team coached
by George Perles.

That squad under Perles had alot of soFla kids, especially from Broward.
Butch Rolle, Lorenzo White, Hickson,etc.
The OC on those MSU teams was Morris Watts, who is in his early 80s but still coaching.
Watts worked for Nick Saban as well and later for Enos at Central Michigan.
Highly respected in his day.

Coaching is an incestuous profession.

Im glad you brought this up, alot of people dont realize how many connections Michigan schools(western Michigan, Central Michiga, eastern Michigan and even Wayne State)have with Miami players and South Florida period. Going back i know at least to the 80's. ****, even ole sweater vest himself when he was with youngstown st. stayed recruiting in Miami, in fact my boy was his starting middle linebacker on one of their championship teams. So coach enos not that green coming down here, but it also shows the respect coach diaz has that that many guys wanted to come and work with and under him as a 1st time headcoach, normally you dont see this many quality guys trying to pile up under a 1st year headcoach.

Shouts out to coach richt who always hinted at that this job would one day belong to manny. I remember what he said in a press conference during the 2017 season. Also had diaz left it would have been probably a lil harder for him to get the job than it was this go round, coach richt basically made the move he did just in time to help this all happen. Im with coach richt he wasnt gone fire his son, so instead, retire!

Dude, props to you, this post is the ****, the incestuous reference bangs the Day. Ridiculous, I bow to you Sir.

The strongest recruiting pitch is winning and bags (for some teams). If we start winning they shouldn’t be a problem recruiting. Beat Florida and show the recruits
If people on here could just understand this fact!! It's like putting the cart before the horse looking for a good recruiter first and hoping that they can be great coaches!

It's better to find top skilled teachers of the game and when it translate to the field it attract great athletes knowing they can be coached up to be even better!

Winning solves all problems and you get there by being able to getting these skilled athletes to maximize their talents on the field with excellent coaching!!

It seems to me with how the offensive staff is shaping out, Manny is building it to win games. Meaning he’s getting professional craftsmen to build games. He’s not worrying about getting an ace recruiter because that will take care of itself once games are being won. I would still like to get at least one solid recruiter but with the moves the Diaz Cartel has been making, I trust what he’s doing. Very exciting times for the U.
