I'd put us at #5 ahead of Texas. Their game vs Georgia last night was not nearly as close as the score indicated. They looked pretty anemic.

I'd also put Indiana and SMU higher and probably put PSU ahead of Georgia since they're undefeated. But I'd be ready to drop PSU significantly if/when they have a loss. I suspect Georgia is a better team.

Not even going to start on our spot, because anyone with a brain knows it’s BS.

The fighting Lashlee’s should be higher. 6-1 now with their one loss being a 3 point road loss to number 11 in a game where they were still sort of doing the 2 qb thing. They’ve looked pretty **** good since going fully to Jennings.
Doesn’t matter, the ACC is trash and the SEC is the best. No matter what happens.

Don’t you know?

But Georgia can score 13 against Kentucky and win by one, and that's perfectly fine? As much as our D has looked suspect, Georgia has not exactly looked like a top team half the time. Why can other teams have losses and close calls, but that's all fine. But Miami? We need to not only have the #1 O in the country, but also win every game by three scores, or we aren't legit? Really?

I tend to think the national perception is that we're a team that can lose to anybody. The reason is what I said, our defense. Nobody is questioning the offense, but our defense makes every game a potential upset.

I'm not going to sit here and dissect every teams plusses and minuses. I simply said if we cut our oppenents point totals in half, we'd be sitting at #2. Instead we're going to the wire with .500 teams weekly. It is what it is.

It’s hard to drop a team from the SEC when they are all stacked on top of each other from a preseason ranking based off of stupid bias
Exactly. Self-fulfilling circle jerk, I call it.

Ask yourself where we’d be ranked if we’d just had this 3-week stretch:

*lose to Vandy
*almost lose to USCe the following week (we all know how our almost losses are basically treated as losses)
*lose to a flailing TN that almost lost to UF

C’mon now. Think we’d be just outside the top 12 with every narrative pushing us back in asap? Pshhhh.

And don’t think we’ll get any credit in hindsight if UF and VT (or anyone else we beat) continue to improve and end up with good seasons.

After all, the refs have carried us to this point, don’t ya know.

I get that UT lost to the UGA and they were highly ranked for losing a close one to Bama. But now Bama has lost to an unranked Vandy team and a Tennessee team that almost lost to the Gators last week. These rankings are a self fulfilling prophecy when you’re also writing the narrative.

The lack of attention to any other conference outside of Big 10 and SEC is insane. I don’t like the precedent that has been set by the AP based upon these 2 conferences. And the ACC has screwed its members since they won’t let anyone go and they are underpaying them making it difficult to continue to compete. So they are causing their own failure ultimately and the AP is almost along for the ride. Which two loss team is going to be ranked ahead of an undefeated Miami that has no control over where its opponents are ranked (scheduled by the conference and others several years in advance)?
It’s just unfortunate Clemson had to get obliterated by UGA week 1

Doesn’t help what we are trying to accomplish with flipping a narrative

They'd still make excuses, unless we were shutting out every team we played.

By the way. Why is our D an issue, when a team like Georgia can lay eggs on O and be completely forgiven? What team out there is perfect? What other team is held to the same standard they are holding Miami to? That's my issue. We are being punished for some perceived officiating bias, and we are polling low because of it.

That's my problem with it all. Miami has to look perfect to earn a top 2-3 spot, while other teams do not.

Undefeated in week 9, number 1 offense in the country, Heisman leading candidate at QB but can't crack the top 5 with multiple one loss teams ahead of us.

I get our defense has been *** in conference play, but conference games are supposed to be close AND WE HAVENT LOST. We killed it in OOC play... including destroying an SEC team on the road.

**** these clowns. I don't like it, but I also love it cause they are back to hating us.

Pretty soon they will be stuffing 2 loss teams in front of us while keeping the Pedos top 3. All bc they beat a 3-4 usc team.

OSU and Texas should not be above us. Us not moving up even though Texas lost is bull****. And Bama only falling to 15 is bull****. Guess they can throw in, Bama has only lost to two ranked teams though. Let’s forget they went to the wire with USF and South Carolina. Miami loses a game, they’d fall to the 20s.
We won't drop to the 20s unless we absolutely **** the bed. Bama dropped 8 spots losing a tough game on the road to the now number 7 team. They dropped more than I expected.

Because people still think you can’t win **** with an elite offense and a mediocre defense, but think you can with an elite defense and mediocre offense.

Until we show we can stop anything I'm happy being in the top 6. Offense will only get you so far. Eventually we will need our D to bail us out. The offensive trajectory we are on is typically not sustainable. Defense needs to do something and soon. They have a chance against FSU. They should not give up a single TD to that trash offense.

Ranking don't really mean much until Nov. 5th. Sit and seethe until then and then unleash a collective "FFFFFFFUUUUUUUUUUUUUU" after that.
