Miami "Commit" Rudolph names UF leader

wait wait wait...we really going to just believe that the Golden boy and an assistant coach are not on the same page? really? and that name tag **** is old. he had an interview not 2 weeks ago where he said he told the staff he rather play WR and he said they said ok, we'll recruit u as a WR. so now he's saying after calling and getting it cleared up a couple of weeks ago that there is still some mix up? i'm sorry ima have to call bull**** on that one. i liked his size at CB but his WR isn't special to me. let him go

Quincy got mad because they put DB/LB on his name tag too. I don't understand why these kids just don't want to play wherever and make an impact. I can understand with Rudolph wanting to play WR (different sides of the ball) and the staff showin incosistentites but if you're not feeling our staff decommit. No reason to hold yourself to a commitment when you are favoring another school & you are just avoiding the inevitable decommiment. I think the kid is a baller but if he doesn't want to play here then time to move on. We already have good young receivers on the roster now and there's a lot of 2014 receivers that can play

"I don't understand why these kids just don't want to play wherever and make an impact."

huh? how can you not understand why a kid would want to play a particular position in college? i'd imagine the majority of kids would want to play a specific position at the next level. And a team's willingness to let the player try out for that position would certainly seem to be a positive factor in the kid's decision of where he is going .

Like I said if you read the next sentence, I could understand with Rudolph but not really with Wilson. There's something called being a team player and doing whatever you have to do so your team can win. Rudolph arguably can be better on offense than defense and I see why he would prefer playing wr in college. But Quincy is better suited as a safety without a doubt and then he would have a better chance to be able to attend his "dream school" by playing safety. I just think Rudolph should ****** decommit he doesn't trust our staff then decommit. No point in being committed

I realize there are "team player" out there that will commit regardless of their ultimate position. Ray Lewis III is an example.

But it's very common (and in my view perfectly acceptable) for a kid to prefer to play a particular position in college, and let a team's willingness (or unwillingness) to pursue that goal factor into his decision.

sometimes the kid is right and the coaches are wrong. RGIII only was willing to play QB in college so he ended up at Baylor. Marshall Faulk wanted to play RB, but we would only recruit him as CB; the rest is history. Portis ended up at UM, bc UF would only recruit him as a CB.

Did I not say I see where Rudolph is coming from? I'm just saying with Quincy, he ******* miami hasn't offered him but he's unwilling to switch from corner to safety. Big difference between that and wr/cb, wr/qb, or rb/cb. Also I understand if Quincy is set on corner and that's fine too but he shouldn't get mad if Miami doesn't pursue. My main point is rudolph should decommit and not stay committed to "hold a spot"

The positions belong to the University of Miami son... Not you. Get over yourself.

I think we cut our ties with this young man... Not because of his infidelity, but because he just stated publicly that our staff are liars and untrustworthy. Can't have that going around.

lol this threads hilarious. The best part is you know after the interview he's going to the board to see what people say about him.

Lmao @ this thread.

Kid has every right to be wavering. This is a blunder on Miami's part.

1. You can't have coaches on 2 different pages. That garbage reminds me of something Shannon's staff would've done.
2. You can't tell a kid that you're recruiting him as a WR then have DB on his name tag for Junior day.

The kid wants to play WR and there's nothing wrong with that. You can't give him the impression that he's gonna play WR at your University for the next 4 years but then list him as a DB at your Junior day. Now you've given the kid the impression that he may not play WR at all, and that's not where he wants to take his career.

Anybody who's ever been recruited before or coached a kid who's been recruited can understand where this kid is coming from. Most of you are too busy hanging from Golden's jock to see it, but this is a blunder on behalf of our staff. (and I love Golden)

To me, the bulk of his ***gotry stems from the fact that he obviously isn't cool with Miami now, still says he's "committed" but says Florida is his leader. How in any way is that not retarded. This is the type of retardation that translates into a kid streaking down field on a hitch.

Hurlie told him not to decommit.

"Commitment" simply means reservation these days. Thats obvious. And this is really our fault. The guy wants to play wide receiver. Franklin is telling him he can play wide receiver. But Golden says corner, and the name tag says corner. he acknowledges that its a little thing, but how can he possibly trust that we will let him play receiver? And if we wont let him play receiver, and thats the most important factor for him, he should go somewhere else and I dont blame him. We should be straight with him one way or the other. Personally I'd say he can have a shot at receiver and if it doesnt work out he will move. But if for some reason we are stubborn enough to not give him a shot at receiver then tell him that. Bull****ting gets us nowhere and its bush league.

lol if you think this blunder by the coaches is what has him wavering...I and others have pegged this kid as a decommit candidate long before this blunder happened. The kid was the softest commitment you could ever get.

Coaches screwed up. But if they didn't, this kid would STILL have left us at some later point.

The thing is, recruits can say whatever they want about a situation. Miami cannot respond or talk about a recruit because its a violation.

Maybe so but the blunder certainly doesn't help.

seems like golden has told him they're recruiting him at CB.. did he not? He can go be a CB at UF if that's what he wants.. even if his nametag says WR at their junior day.
