Not surprising considering they hired the announcers from fiverr or task rabbitACCN trying to sabotage our amazing ending:

needlessly slandering one of the best players on the team and then acting like other people are the problem. sit here while i feed you this crow like you're a baby in a high chair.I was first it post after the game, relax mate
That has been Ls problem for his entire tenure here(possibly at George Mason too, I never followed his career there). So its fair to criticize him for that, but this is the type of team that can cause headaches for the really good teams if we get hot come tournament time. I can see us possibly even winning a Sweet 16 game this year.funny to find another thread that is just people complaining endlessly about a competitive ACC road game. VT shot the lights out at home but our guys played really solid defense down the stretch when they had to have stops and made plays on offense to claw back the lead.
look, this is a flawed team. that's obvious. if they win even a game in the tournament it will be a hugely successful season. people complaining every single game about the lack of bigs and poor rebounding is not going to miraculously make those problems go away. but they are very resilient, don't crumble, and have so far had a knack for making plays in clutch situations. this is a very easy team to root for, not that you would know it from ever reading about the team on this message board. but if you can't enjoy this run that's on you.
They shot the lights out bc they were consistently wide open and stayed in the game bc they had 10 offensive rebounds. We know complaining about it isn’t gonna make it go away, but it’s not too much to ask for a major D1 coach to attempt to make adjustments to help fix it.funny to find another thread that is just people complaining endlessly about a competitive ACC road game. BrutalZero clue. I put 100 on canes to cover the alternate -3.5
Only negative was our three point defense. Not gonna win many games where you allow 50% 3 pt shooting and give up 13 three pointers. This teams got the grit and firepower to make some noise in the tourney. This team wins on the road in adverse situations! Down five with a minute left, Hokies shot 13-26 from three and still pulled it out
Nahh it's all good. Happy with the win. Also had 20 on the moneyline so it softens the blow.Brutal
actually, choosing to try and protect the rim and instead forcing a team to make a bunch of threes to beat you is a very normal way to play defense in the modern game. plenty of NBA teams employ this strategy including the Heat who are frequently in the bottom three of the league in three point attempts allowed (this year they're last in the league). for this Miami team which is severely deficient at center, trying to make teams shoot from further away is a totally acceptable strategy. if a team is hot then yeah it's gonna hurt you, but you're playing a three point variance game which is better than overcompensating and getting killed at the rim, especially when you can't protect the rim. They shot the lights out bc they were consistently wide open and stayed in the game bc they had 10 offensive rebounds. Can’t just always be positive or negative. Give credit when it’s due and complain when it’s necessary.
It’s a totally acceptable strategy against some teams, not against a Mike Young team. They’re game plan is to shoot a bunch of threes. We played right into their hands and gave up a bunch of threes and almost lost the game bc of it.actually, choosing to try and protect the rim and instead forcing a team to make a bunch of threes to beat you is a very normal way to play defense in the modern game. plenty of NBA teams employ this strategy including the Heat who are frequently in the bottom three of the league in three point attempts allowed (this year they're last in the league). for this Miami team which is severely deficient at center, trying to make teams shoot from further away is a totally acceptable strategy. if a team is hot then yeah it's gonna hurt you, but you're playing a three point variance game which is better than overcompensating and getting killed at the rim, especially when you can't protect the rim.
and when this game got to 75-70, VT's final possessions went missed turnaround w/ 2 guys defending at the rim, missed three, missed three. the dice rolled our way, which is kind of the game you're playing.
VT is somehow in the last 4 out. So not end of the world if we lost…glad we didn’tToo dramatic to call that a season saving shot? Losing this one would’ve been tough to come back from.
More from a starting a losing streak point, than tourney bubble point. Just felt like a game that could send this team forward, or sink them.VT is somehow in the last 4 out. So not end of the world if we lost…glad we didn’t
