What happened here besides A&M bags?
It is about what did not happen. He establishes a footprint in Arizona and then takes the Miami job. The top player in the state (AZ) is a Miami legacy who used to live in south Florida... our school offers him a full year after FSU, Oregon, UMich, A&M, etc. Left the 'Canes fighting an uphill battle. Should have been recruiting him way way earlier.

What experience did he bring to the table if you have no contacts on the ground to tell you about a War Daddy with a connection to your program? (rhetorical)

Sounds like a recurring theme under the last staff. Without going back down the path, it seemed their recruiting was much more passive (i.e. lazy).

Good riddance, then.

Or, as Crazy Alice would say, "Arrivederci, c0cksvcker!"

It's going to be interesting going forward. On one hand, Mario has a 10-year contract. On the other hand, most college OCs/DCs seem to be angling for a HC job, instead of trying to put in 10 years somewhere. Not to mention the position coaches.

Ultimately, I hope that Mario can establish a "polite" moving-on system, where guys take new roles elsewhere as they rise up the ranks, rather than this petty lateral movement crap that seems to be going on right now.
Steele may stay until he retires. Just speculation on my part
