A. Three years ago we open season at Maryland half the team on suspension from 2 to 5 games we win 6 games.
B. Last year we play 19 freshmen we win 7 games, without a defense.
C. This year we win 9 games, defense improves by 25%

That might be true, but not of all. A bunch of us have long time affiliation, some of us old-farts predate Howard. Couple of us got some book learning too. Maybe not up to Op's standards. I mena I was 24 when I recieved my Doctorate from THE U. I am sure he was way younger and probably has 2 or 3.
Listen are the idiots on board here, sure and plenty of them. I have defended Al and staff, except Mark, from the beginning. They beat the gator and that was huge for me personally. But I have no tolerance for stubborn pride and that is what I am seeing now. Morris went the tank early and Al made no move. Defense is just flippin horrible and Al made no move. The first blow for me came when he blamed the players after the KSU disaster last year to protect his BFF from heat. This year he has done that again and even blamed himself to protect his BFF and his scheme. And don't talk about loyalty to me, Duke is best Cane on all levels we have seen in maybe ever, and Al threw him under the bus for two fumbles!!!! You think he could light Marks rear on fire at least once in public? Just one "Mark has to do better or ..."? Since he said blame him, I now do. JJ was told not to mess with the Howard's offense. Dennis was told to not mess JJ's defense. Both complied and won. Al was given free rein because we sucked so bad everywhere. It is time to reel him in. He is making over 2 million a year and not delevering the results. This year both O and D now suck.
Al has to revise his big book and let us see the revisions fast. And no more talk of working hard. This is THE U, not Harvard, we don't give grades for effort! I love Al Golden the coach. But Al Golden the player we have way to many of. Overachievers are nice story lines, but we need monsters and beasts to go with them or your nice little overachievers who work really, really hard are just lambs to the slaughter. Let's try a 50/50 mix and see what happens. The offense died with Duke's broken ankle. Clearly 1/11 just isn't enough.
Fire Al, not yet. If he doesn't brng in a new DC to change the defense to something that works, then I want one more of his recruting classes. After another year of horrible defense , it will be time to take out the ax. The only thing that would make doing it now would be if we can get one to our two Canes NFL HCs that got fired this week. I thought Chud would last another year and be perfect for next year but the Browns are idiots. Greg Schiano might even be better. He was HC in college and is good recruiter with So Fl roots. Of course both might be available next year too, depending out their severance deals.
I want Al to make it. He is a great face for the program, but I rather be hated for winning and crushing others' dreams than laughed at for being crushed. At this point I want to know what he plans. We need to see the re-write for the pages in his book -- yes I want to make comment's in RED on it. No more "good effort" crap. Fish or cut bait and do it now. We have seen a process but no progress.
