Rivals has a new article on him about his recruitment. I don't have access but it's probably the same stuff Pete has reported on here.
Rivals250 running back Anthony McFarland is set to announce his decision on Wednesday and has narrowed his choices down to Maryland and Miami. The Hyattsville (Md.) DeMatha star previews his decision in the video above. Here are some notes:
Miami
-McFarland is staying in touch with Miami coaches every day.
-Lead recruiter and running backs coach Thomas Brown has come to see him more than any other coach.
-Miami commit Trajan Bandy talks to McFarland every day and gives him the inside scoop on what’s happening with the team.
-Thomas Brown is going to visit McFarland on Thursday, the day after his commitment, regardless of what school he picks.
Maryland
-The Maryland players and coach are asking him why he wouldn’t stay home with everything Maryland can offer.
-McFarland knows he could play early and contribute in a variety of ways.
-McFarland says there is a great support system for him on the field, off the field, and in the classroom.
-McFarland says it would be special to play in front of his family, friends, and the younger players that look up to him.
-During his last visit to Maryland McFarland Talked with his former DeMatha teammates Lorenzo Harrision, Terrance Davis, Tino Ellis, and DJ Turner about staying home during his last visit.
-Maryland coaches will visit McFarland on Tuesday.
-McFarland thinks he fits in both offenses well. Feels like Maryland offense is more explosive for him but thinks taking handoffs from the shotgun in Miami’s offense fits him well also.
