You could be right that we don't want to read too much into K.C.'s dad being pro-Miami. K.C.'s dad already has one son at Miami, and he may not want to publicly admit that Miami is a notch below ND academically. That might feel tantamount to calling his older son a dumbass. I've noticed generally that parents sometimes become infatuated with a school once they send a kid there ... it's like they subconsciously don't want to acknowledge any of its disadvantages or the relative advantages of other schools because they don't want to open themselves up to the accusation that they should have advised the older child differently.
