McCord and AQM

You need to find another sport and team to follow....

Not trying to be negative but what am I missing about these two guys? I know Mccord made a couple of plays against UF and the big hit on an option team trying to pass but has he made another play this season. THis isnt even about today's horrid tackling display. Not saying he is bad just dont see all the hype that he is LT. Same goes for AQM. Has he made a single play this season. I think his highlight is coming untouched and whiffing on Winston. Again not trying to be negative but it seems everyone is banking on these two guys being monsters and turning the d around and I dont see it.

One is a true freshman, the other is a sophmore, what do you expect ?

I get it, I dont expect much but I keep reading how these guys are going to be key to our D being dominant and I barely notice them. McCord has made a few plays but they are basically one play here and then nothing for games and then one. I am taking a wait and see approach. Remember Chick was going to be a monster once he got an off season behind him. Heck Calais Campbell did way more early in his career and most people complained about that guy his career here.

I mean they both are still young..... They've played well this season despite playing for the worst DC in the country. The whole team needs to work on tackling. Basic fundamentals is where this team lacks. These two will be a big part of our future.

McCord has been making the Big play. Yeah, his game is not complete, but he is only 2nd year. AQM is only a freshman. In 3 years he will be a beast. What you should be asking is where is the upperclassmen talent on the DL?

Not sure if you really watch the games or not. McCord doesn't get to see the field that often. When he does, there is a good chance he will make a play. He is not an every down player yet.

Holy ****, why is everyone so sensitive? Are the Dorito haters so blinded by their hate that any criticism of players is immediately met with "your opinion sucks?" I disagree with the OP but was pretty disappointed in McCord when he missed that tfl on the swing pass on third down just before UVA scored to pull close. Watching the LSU game, those are exactly the type of big plays their guys who are just as young are making. I have high hopes for both, but they can still step up more.

Just a couple more 4/5 stars that every team in the world wanted who suddenly can't play. Strange how that happens with Alice and Duh.

Yes i watch the games. I am not saying that these guys should be dominating but I guess I would expect more from guys that everyone is calling the next great thing. I read that they arent put in a position to make plays. I mean they come in the game and their sole responsibility is to get to the QB and with the exception of a few sacks there isnt much else. I dont see hurries, I dont see qbs getting flushed from the pocket etc. They very well might turn into studs and I am by no means giving up on them, I just have a hard time being so definitive that they ARE going to dominate based on this season. I mean I just looked up McCord stats and he had nothing for 4 straight games. Didnt even show up. Those were 4 of the 5 best teams we played this season.

Potential doesn't win games.... show me the money. What have ya done for me lately....

Just two guys that should have their ears pinned back and allowed to run wild into the backfield that we have playing rarely, dropping into coverage, and trying to control C gaps. On the rare occasion they are allowed to run wild, they are making game changing plays.

Any chance they move Chick inside? IMHO he doesnt have much of a bull rush and loses contain frequently. He would be better off inside, again MHO. AQM and McCord outside, chick and player to be named on the inside and its a huge upgrade. Figs and Perryman Kirby or Grace at LB.

I will be happy not to see Gaines, Rogers, Highsmith, Morris, Robinson etc etc next year.

McCord has had a few forced fumbles, a pick, a few sacks. Considering the # of snaps he's gotten, he's produced a ton.

We played a lot more 50 fronts with both of them on the field together on early downs.

I think that will be our base defense next year (unless Golden makes a scheme change).

i did notice Mccord (not AQM) lined up on a couple of second downs today

We need some stud DT's disrupting the QB forcing him to move to a a hash where AQM or Mccord are waiting...the DL is a unit.
